• As I watch the winter snow,
I think of times passed long ago.
I think of those who are deceased-
    Sleeping beneath the snow-covered ground,
    Never to breathe again.

I think of trees that are shivering without their sweet leaves,
I think of bears that are deep in dreams,
    I think of families mourning
Over their loved ones that are forever to sleep.

I think of the sparkling, glimmering white,
I think of the cries of laughter overhead,
I think of the swirling, tumbling dance blizzards make
That no human could ever know.

I think of the young ones
    Unafraid of death-
For they have seen all of hell.
I think of the small tiny prints in the snow,
Of life that flourishes in the desolate ice.

As I think, I look towards the sky,
Darker that the depths of the sea.
    I separate star from snowflake
And stare down the universe as no one else has
Then at the end of my broad range of thoughts,
    I think only of you.
