• I have been contemplating an ominous message I had received from a powerful man in my dreams. He rode in on a great and terrible green storm that violently threw all things in all directions. At the front of this wicked storm was an eerie skull that screamed wickedly when it gazed upon me. When the storm subsided at his will, I approached and naturally asked "How do I become more like you?" for he was what I aspired to be, powerful, handsome, intelligent, and regal in stature. He looked my way and said only this; "You need more enemies."
It was not until now I realized the depth of the phrase. Enemies come in all forms, from other people, from within, from the challenges we face in this life. There is opposition for every proposition. Duality. Yin and yang. Balance. There is dissonance in all things.
But even greater, is how all forms of wisdom agree with eachother. There is no triumph without challenge. We know not peace, nor satisfaction with our lives, without being reminded that war will always exist and there will always be evil. Excitement inspires, despair drives us to feel more deeply, heartbreak teaches us how to love and what we love, defeat teaches you tact, combat makes you stronger, arguing teaches you about your own mind, and hatred teaches us passion. That is where wisdom guides you. Allow excitement to inspire you, do not let it make you rash. Feel more deeply, but do not linger in darkness. Know how and what you need in love, not what you simply want, for want resides in a moment, need is eternal. Accept when you are defeated, but never accept true defeat. Combat makes you stronger, but only when you are righteous. Otherwise, power without responsible purpose corrupts and contaminates hearts. And hate while you feel it, but do not hold a grudge. Redirect that passion to spread love, the one true prize in this world.
A man who knows his value by money is just a number and will be forgotten once dead. A man who knows his value by how he treats those around him, will be remembered if he was valuable at all.
