• The Bullied

    Rotten lunches in her locker
    And notes behind her back
    Every whisper, every smile
    They make is an attack

The "I'm so clever" face they make
While they joke at her expense
They only speak with disguised words
So that she can't take offence.

The smile she forces to her lips
    Just doesn't reach her eyes
It only makes her loath herself
Because she sees through their lies

She hates herself for holding back
And hates her friends who look away
She curses the world for hating her
The offenses wrack up all day each day

It's unlikely that she will fight back
She'll just spend her life in pain
Unable to bear her own reflection
    Always standing in the rain

In the end she could be saved
Or she could pass this treatment on as well
It's the difference between heaven on earth
And an earth that feels like hell
