My rat Miyu passed away last week.
Her twin sister, Mayu, has been very depressed. Their little sister, Miki, has been taking good care of Mayu but there's not much I can do. I'm afraid Mayu will stop eating soon....

Miki's tummy is getting very stiff. I'm worried she may be developing a tumor. If Mayu does recover from Miyu's death, she surely won't recover from Miki's.

Bubbles has chronic pneumonia. He's been on medicine for 14 days and it has broken up the congestion. For a while he was doing better. He was more active, had more energy, was gaining weight. Tonight was his last dose of medicine and like every day; twice a day after his medicine he got a yogie [treat]. Right after he finished his yogie he started sneezing it back up -- SNEEZING out the yogie.... I wiped the thick pale pink goo [the yogie] off his nose... he started gasping, but wasn't breathing... coughing and sneezing... then he started coughing and sneezing blood so I ran to get my mom. She gave him a small dose of her inhaler and he started breathing again after a few minutes. He's sitting on my shoulder gasping for air now... I really don't think he's gonna make it until Tuesday [vet appt.], and even if he does I'm pretty certain the vet will recommend putting him to sleep.

I could really go for a nice big hug right about now.
