A subtle silence
My ears catching the sounds of city life
As I remain in on this night
My day slowing and eyes beginning to lower with sorrow
This feeling in my gut beginning to knot with the sadness
"When will they return?" I ask myself
Home alone yet another night
A silence roaming through the house once again
"When will they return?" I repeat
The room soon turning cold
My body growing numb as the seconds drag by
A hopeless loneliness
Sorrowful and enduring
And yet nobody can hear my cries
Nobody at all
