Well.
Today I woke up at 3:30 in the morning,
And went back to sleep.
THEN,
Daddy came in an woke me up at around 3:45,
And told me to get up.
So,
I got up,
Took a shower,
Fixed myself up,
And we headed out the door.
We made it to the school,
We said goodbyes,
And I got on the bus.
This bus was to take me and a group of others in my school to Baton Rouge,
Approximately 3 hours away,
To the Louisiana State University,
[LSU],
So we could compete in the State Championships for the Literary Rally.
Bobby, Taylor and I all had to be there by 8:30.
It was 8:30 when we pulled up to the WRONG building.
Thinking it was right, we started running around it, trying to find a non-locked door...
To no avail.
We eventually asked for directions,
And were pointed in the right way.
We hurried there,
And luckily, as it turns out,
We were rather early.
...
Or so we thought.
We walked in to this main office place,
Where the guy at the counter gave each of us our information as to where to go.
I was to go across the BIG Quad,
And find the building labeled "Alan".
I found it easily enough,
And I quickly found my room.
I walked in,
[There were already 3 other contestants sitting in their seats.]
And I awkwardly sat down.
This guy who sat next to me went first,
And he.
Was.
Incredible.
He was EVERYWHERE with his speech.
It was PURE insanity!
He finished his, and sat down.
My.
Heart.
Was.
Racing.
This guy was good.
TOO good, even!
I was TERRIFIED I would mess up,
And mess up I did.
It didn't help at all that one of the other guys in the room was one I had seen at the previous thing,
Who, by the way,
I had a slight crush on. D:
[The funny thing is, I don't even know this guy's name. xDD]
Anyhow,
I went up next,
And I was shaking, to say the least. D:
I read "The Raven" like I normally do,
Except this time,
I stumbled over my words,
I messed up a handful of lines,
And I didn't keep ANY eye-contact. D:
Sitting down in shame, I listened to the last contestant, this girl who was dressed really nicely, and I nearly cried over how badly I had performed.
After the girl went, the teacher then let all of us go.
[Apparently I missed the other guy's performance, so I had no chance of getting at least a name.]
He held the door for the girl, and since I was right behind her, I went under his arm, too.
[This guy is TALL. :O]
Anyhow,
He ended up holding open another door for me,
To which I quickly replied, "Thanks--"
Before I practically ran ahead. Dx
I then retraced my steps through the Quad,
And I made it over to the Union place thingie,
Where Bobby and Taylor already were.
We sat around, talked a bit,
And eventually we decided to go inside the building.
We ran around, had a bit of fun, and left. x3
Then, it was the official lunch time, so we went up the stairs and eventually found Josh, [JP], and this other guy from our group.
We all got our lunches, and the two of them sat over at a table,
While Bobby, Taylor, and I all went outside to eat.
Eventually we spotted Hocobo and Lance and the other-other guy. [Another guy with our group, but I didn't get his name either. o.o;]
They went inside for a minute, got their lunches, and joined us outside.
We all ate, and eventually we caught up with our group.
Then the confusion started.
The three of us, [Bobby, Taylor, and I], all went back into the main building, to see if our scores were written up yet.
...
They weren't.
We walked that LOOOOONG distance for nothing.
Taylor wandered off,
So Bobby and I both decided to go back to the rest of the group.
Once we made it, we sat around,
And eventually Taylor came back,
Asking where we went.
Turns out,
She had gone into the room next door,
And she had gotten her score. Dx
So, Bobby and I had to run back over there,
Get our papers,
Run back to the group,
And get on the bus.
Our feet were in PAIN. D:
Taylor and I explained to Hocobo about all the INTERESTING conversations we had during lunch,
[About masturbation, "The Talk", and Sex in general,]
And we all shared in a good laugh. x3
Our next stop was the Mall of Louisiana,
This, as you can imagine, HUGE mall in [You guessed it!] Louisiana. x3
Well,
We went searching around,
Bobby and Taylor found some clothes,
And I got some earrings. xD
Then we headed out,
And we got back on the bus,
And we headed home.
The bus ride home was NOTHING like the bus ride there.
EVERYONE was awake,
And Taylor and I weren't the only ones singing. xD
Hocobo and I even sang a bit to Panic! At the Disco, Franz Ferdinand, and Fall Out Boy.
It was loads of fun. :D
