Chapter 3
As Steven walked to school the next morning, he didn't see Vivian come out of her house. Where is she, he thought. Disappointed, he walked down the street, but stopped at the sound of running footsteps. Vivian stooped over next to him, trying to catch her breath.
"Woke up late again?"
she nodded, and started walking in pace with Steven.
"I had that same dream again last night," Vivian said.
Steven remembered Vivian saying something about finding a gem or whatever
in a field.
"This time it was glowing."
"Maybe it's a sign or something," said Steven.
"Well, if it is, then I have no idea what it means," Vivian replied.
John and Martin were standing at the street corner that all four of them meet up at, and looking at John, they immediately knew that he was mad.
"Viv, you gave me a black eye!"
She couldn't help but laugh when she saw his eye, now purplish in color.
"If anyone asks, we were playing football."
They all nodded, but it would be hard to believe, since he didn't really play football.
Kids stared at him when they walked into the entrance of the school.
...to be cont.
