Chapter One
I wake up to the sound of someone opening the door to my bed room. I couldn't see who it was and I wouldn't say it scared me as much as what it should of. I knew who it was. Its the same person who always enters my room at this hour in the night. I sighed as I felt him sitting on the bed and he clicked on the light on the bed side table to show his features. He had brown hair that sat on his shoulders and his green eyes looking into my blue ones. His pale skin was even paler in the light. He was wearing an heavy cloak around his shoulders, some jeans and an shirt with an sword attached on his waist.
"Sofia, shouldn't you be asleep."
"I wanted to talk with you. We haven't spoke in months. Where have you be Kameko?"
"Sofia you know I can't tell you, its against the rules."
"You always says that." I said folding my arms over my chest and pouting.
I could see the smile clear on his face as he ruffed my hair.
"Sofia, someday I'll bring you to my place. Now sleep. I promise I'll be here in the morning.
That was a memory from years ago when I was only eight years old. Kameko told me he would be there when I woke up, but he never was there. I am now eighteen years old. It has been ten years since I saw him and it upset me. He was the only friend I ever had, since my father and mother were always busy with work, paying the bills and hosting parties; that I was never invited to.
I looked out over the sea and let the sea breeze blow though my black hair that was to my mid-back, an blond side bang covering one of my eyes. My skin was a fair color and my lips a pale pink. I wasn't one to wear make-up, only if I had too.
I sat down on one of the many rocks and sighed watching the sun set as I pulled my knees to my chest and laid my head on it. I couldn't help but think back to the many times I was around with Kameko as an child. I could feel the tears starting to fall from my eyes and I just let them fall. Wishing he would come back once again.
I don't even know where he is anymore. He was there one night talking with me and then the next gone from my world and never came back.
You are probably wondering what he was. Kameko was...How can I say this..He was different then most people. He was part vampire, part human, and has been around for years. He met me one night when I was lost and he showed me my way home. I told him about my life and he told me about his. He was the only person who every listened to me and I was glad to have someone to listen to me about everything. He was the only person I could talk with about anything and he would just listen. The last time I saw him was an night when mom and dad were fighting and I couldn't sleep, because mom spent the whole night crying. I didn't even think he would of showed up that night and it surprised me when he did show up.
I looked at the sun as it was now always set. It was the twilight time now and I loved this time of night, it was amazingly beautiful. I knew I had to go home. It was just mom and me now. Dad left not long ago and I couldn't had really care. He never was much of a father and now he was gone and couldn't have cared that he was gone. I got off the rock and walked away from the beach sighing softly as I walked back towards the house. Once reaching it I entered and walked up to my room and closed the door. I never even looked towards the bed as I slipped on a sweater. I turned around as I heard someone clear their throat. I looked and it shocked me as I saw the one person I though I would of never see again.
"Kameko?" I asked softly, not trusting my eyes at all. He just smiled that smile that i knew all too well, as he walked towards me hugging me to him.
"Sofia, I'm so sorry. I had to leave. Things were going bad back home and if i didn't leave you would of been in trouble." He said into my hair.
"Your back, that is all that matters right now." I said softly into his chest as the tears fell from my eyes.
