Root's grin widens and his blush turns to an even deeper shade of red, "R-really?!" I didn't expect this either, he's always been the calm one of the group. I can't crush that sudden happiness, "Yeah, I haven't fished in ages." The words stumbled out and my thoughts scattered around. His chest seemed to swell with pride as he said, "Great, at sunrise then?" Oh joy, another early morning, but it is best to head out early, "Sounds perfect."

The next morning I forced myself out of the warm blankets and fixed my hair and slipped on a clean dress that would survive the water damage. I checked myself one last time in the bowl of water then I went out to meet Root.

Root grinned at the sight of me. I couldn't help but grin back, that made his chest swell with pride again. I went over to him, I looked back and fourth. Odd, there wasn't a canoe anywhere along the bank. I looked at Root questioning, "Where's the canoe? And the fishing gear?" There wasn't any of those either. How was he expecting to fish? I could easily use my new skills, but the water would be too cold for him. What was he planning for us to do? Did I hear him wrong? "Um...I couldn't get anything for fishing, would it be ok if we just went through a walk in the forest?" He said looking down. Was he expecting me to reject him? I couldn't, he was one of my few friends that I still had. "Sure, it sounds good." Drat, I'm not wearing my hiking footwear. All well, I'll live. "You don't mind?" he asks in disbelief. "Not at all," I replied. He grins widely again and I respond with a weak smile. So we then begin to walk through the forest.
