You know, I don't really care at this point about presents or stuff like that. Sure, it's a perk, but it's not really what Christmas is about. But that's not what this rant is about, either...
Know what I want for Christmas? My family to be a little more accepting. For the pass two days, I've woken up to derogitory comments. Yesterday it was: "What's with all the fags?"; today it was: "Oh my god, friggin' lezbos". Not exactly the best way to wake up in the morning, considering I, myself, am bisexual. And then, when we go out to eat, somehow, the conversation always comes around to 'that guy is gay' or 'that chick is a lesbian' or some s**t like that. And just now, guess what I hear, right down the hall? "I don't want to hear about all the fags and lezbo s**t." -.-
What's wrong with people? Why can't they just accept the fact that the homosexual and bisexuals of the world are not going anywhere? They're here to stay, and always have been. Everyone thinks homosexuals and bisexuals care only about sex. They can't figure out that there is actual love there. There is no reason why they can't love, or shouldn't be allowed to. They see past the gender barrier when it comes to love. If you ask me, that's a more true form than most heterosexuals get. They can't see past the barrier of appearance. And I'm not saying all homosexuals are saints in that department, either, but still...
I just don't get it, you know? If it's not 'natural', then why would people be doing it? I doubt someone woke up one day, looked at someone of the same sex and thought, "I wonder what it would be like to be with someone of the same sex?" and then just started some new fad or something. Homosexuality dates back to Ancient Rome or further, for crying out loud! There were plenty of Roman emperors that had boyfriends, and one had a husband! And not all homosexuals or bisexuals are 'girly', but people can't see that, either. It just grates at my nerves, you know? And I can't say anything, because my dad will rag on me to no end, and I'll get backed into a corner.
People just need more acceptance... The religious need to realize that all of the religions are the same, just practiced differently, and their Gods have different names. The racists need to realize that other races aren't going away any time soon. We were all put here like this for a reason and God isn't going to strike one group or another dead just because of some selfish a*****e who doesn't like a black person, or an Asian, since they don't 'look like us' or something. All the biggots need to figure out that the homosexuals and bisexuals are here to stay and they might as well get used to it; as long as they're not being dragged along, they shouldn't care.
Maybe the next generation will grow up more accepting, being exposed to all of this. Of course, the are those who are going to grow up under these racists and biggots and who will pick up these stupid, narrow-minded ideals. We have a dark future ahead of us, ladies and gentlemen. All we can do is hope someone will see the light...
