New Moon Fiesta
“What should we do first?”
“We have to wait until she wakes up to do anything else..Now be quiet you idiot!”
“Be nice you two..The basilisk is very hungry tonight...”
“Yes Medierva.”
Moonlight's eyes slowly opened. All she could see was darkness. Which, she preferred, but it would be nice to see some notice of where she was. She tried moving her arms, bound. Her legs, bound.
“She is awake.” A female voice appeared through the darkness. The female reached up and pulled the blindfold from Moonlight's eyes. “Welcome Lady Symarea. My master will be with you shortly.”
Moonlight's eyes diverted to the female. She took note of the female's appearance. Blonde hair, blood red eyes, soft pink skin. Medierva. A queen who held slave to Taraven, God of Snakes. “Lovely to see you again Medierva. Still playing whore to the snake?” Moonlight's voice was weak, but the mocking in her voice was greatly visible.
Medierva's eyes dropped to the floor. “Why must you tease me about that such past?” Her sadden voiced echoed through the barren walls.
“Your past is still alive. Otherwise, I would not be here.” Moonlight said in an obvious tone. Her voice iced as she asked, “What plans does your Master have for me?”
“I-”
“There she is,
The Goddess of Night.
Running around,
Without fright.
What glorious pleasure it would be,
To take those rights from thee.”
Taraven stepped into the room. His face held a devious smile. The appearance differed from what Moonlight had remembered. Neat, tidy, elegant. Nothing she had seen on this man before. Taraven slowly unbuttoned his lengthy black and silver jacket. He pulled if off then tossed it to Medierva before taking a seat in front of his new captive prize. Taraven leaned foreward, resting his elbows on his knees. He folded his hands together, then rested his chin upon them, continuing his song.
“Let's dethrone her and take her crown.
Make her mad by gag and bound.
Treat her 'right', despite the frown.
Toss her in the desert mound.”
Taraven smirked as he ended the song there. “Your response?” He asked, amusement intensified in his voice.
Moonlight grinned then answered quite poetically.
“I will rise,
Restore my crown,
And take back my night.”
“So sure you will win?” Taraven scowled. That was not the answer he desired, but knew he was going to receive. “You will not win.” He said reassuring before Moonlight could answer. “I will win. My plan will not fail.”
“Oh? And what is this plan?” Moonlight's voice, calm and smooth, asked in a uninterested tone.
Taraven smirked. “Well Sweetheart. M-”
“Don't!” Moonlight commanded angrily. “Do not call me that!”
Taraven sat up straight, surprised at Moonlight's reaction. Slowly he grinned, leaning close to her again. “Ahh...I remember...Your one rule...What was it again?” He smirked then said mockingly. “Only the one that truly loves me is allowed to call me 'Sweetheart'.” Taraven bursts out in deep laughter. “Pathetic! Completely pathetic in how you would believe in such a thing!”
“I am glad you found this so amusing.” Moonlight growled sarcastically.
“Oh, I find something even more amusing.” Taraven's wicked grin came to life, revealing his doubled fangs. “What you are in is your greatest fear....Love!”
Moonlight's face paled to her name. “H-how d-did you figure that out..?” Her voice weak with great sorrow, fear, and dying life.
Taravin pulled a folded paper from his white dress shirt pocket. “This. If you read deeply between the lines, you find your...dark” He snickered. “secret.” He unfolds the paper and reads aloud,
“My heart,
You finally speak.
My fear,
It's all you seek.
My pain,
Is all to leak.
My voice,
Only but a squeak.
My emotions,
Greatly at their peak.
My tears,
A vast ocean to drink.
My thoughts,
Deeper and deeper they sink.
My hidden wounds,
Made by ones who would never think.
My cry's surprising words,
Get rid of this missing link!”
Moonlight's eyes widened. “M-my poem...” She stammered. Her eyes sharply turned into a deep hating glare toward Taraven. “How did you get that?! I locked it away! I kept that hidden!” She hissed angrily.
Taraven's dark laughter filled the room. “There will be time for that later. As for my plan..” His voice darkened. “I am going to drain that silver blood of yours to keep you still, strip you of your desired clothing, fill you entirely..” Taraven licked his lips and grinned widely. “And then...”
Moonlight's eyes widened once again before her head fell. Her body felt weak. Silently she cursed the New Moon night before lifting her head, staring Taraven dead in the eyes. “Do your worst.”
