Adara's, thoughts, stories and rambles.
Who is actually reading these?
"Not anymore"
The little b*****d was elusive! She had no idea whom he was nor where he was. She didn’t even know if he was still in the area. She got up every morning, got ready then headed out to find him. Her expertise were not needed all the time and she made great money from it so she didn’t have to worry. Everyday at the same time she went to that spot and waited to see if he would show up around the same time, debating whether to kill him or not. She wasn’t called to kill him and it wasn’t his fault, she should have held the book better. Regardless she wasn’t going to do anything to him till she got that piece of her soul back.

One day she sat in a café frustrated, yet no one would know it from the look on her face. About the time she was about to get up and leave she heard a guitar being plucked from inside the shop. It caught her attention and she looked in as it sounded interesting and THERE HE WAS! Just sitting there with a guitar on his lap and a microphone. She saw him sing his heart out on some song she obviously didn’t know. Getting up she went inside and sat down. She wasn’t going to interrupt him as he looked at peace and happy. It was weird but something about that male made her go against all she was. She should have killed him right there when they met, she couldn’t find him and she almost didn’t care, then now she should kill him and get her book. However, she just couldn’t stop listening to his guitar and smooth soft voice that seemed to be effecting her.

Not realizing it she sat there for about two hours of his singing quietly…enjoying it? Blinking she shook her head when she heard “Thank you so much for listening to me.” and clapping. Looking down she was clapping with them. What the hell was going on! Stopping she looked up to see him walking to her with a warm smile. “Hi you, I hope your okay from our run in. I have your book, I figured you would want it back and have been looking for you.” She blinked as he stood there. She studied his face, his left eye slightly smaller and angled differently, the mole above the same side eyebrow. The lip ring in the right side of his lip. The way his face was cut and built she figured Korean.

“You don’t speak much, do you?” His smile wavered as he sat down. “Well anyways I’m Victor. It’s a pleasure to see you again….?” Waiting for her name he just sat there for a moment. Realizing what he wanted the honey voice came out again “Adara…” He was shocked on how sweet her voice was, he kind of wondered what her singing voice was but he was more concerned at her lack of emotions. “Well I have it back at my apartment, my roommate is home so I’ll have him put it on the coffee table-” “Did you read it?” Victor looked up and blinked but then deflated slightly “I’m sorry I did, I first was looking to see if you had a phone number in it then I was enthralled with your words. They flowed over the pages and I simply could not put it down. Please don’t be mad at me, I’m a lover of all forms of art and yours was beautiful.” She didn’t feel her arms move and looked down. There they were just resting on the table without a care, she didn’t kill him again, what the hell?

After agreeing to go with him she quietly walked a half of a step behind him so she knew where to go. Eventually they got to the high rise apartment building that made her stop and study it for exits if needed. “Come on, I promise it won’t bite you.” She looked down a bit startled at Victor’s voice who was just smiling and holding out his hand. “Well if it does bite I’ll protect you.” She blinked she didn’t know how to react to him, but was equally as startled when she felt something around her hand. Looking down why was her body betraying her? She saw his hand firmly but gently around her hand, with the small tug she willingly followed the skinny Asian into the building.

Walking into his apartment she looked stumped. There were canvases all over the walls with spray painted ‘Love’ ‘Dream’ ‘Laugh’ hearts or flowers everywhere. Releasing his hand she walked over and just stared at a purple one with ‘Love’ the O was a heart with a teardrop at the very bottom. Hearing him walk up behind her she came out of the trance but didn’t move, even when two arms went around her and pulled it off the wall. “You like?” As he brought it down so did her gaze along with a nod. “Then here” letting her take it, “a gift to you as an apology for reading your book.” He smiled at the back of her head as she took it from him “thank you” quietly given back to him.

She turned but he was already walking away, why was she okay with all this? Seriously? Then out came his roommate. “Victor! Grocery time! Wooo spam….and….eggs? Hi?” “Oh Adara this is my roommate Kevin…Kevin this is Adara she was the one that wrote the book I told you about.” “Oh yeah! I’m sorry I forgot to get it out, I was about to take a shower and didn’t want to waste water…” “…that’s okay. I got it.” With a smile he was off to his room as Kevin turned to Adara. “So…you’re the one that went down. You okay?” she just stood there looking at him. It was the smart a** in him, he waved his hand in front of her face. Just standing there she figured she didn’t break his wrist cause he was friends with Victor and it would upset him if she broke his roommate. “I’m fine.” Retracting his hand he just looked at her a minute, she started to wonder if she had a booger hanging out her nose or something but shrugged it off.

Victor could have died when he came out and heard “So why don’t you have any emotions and just stand there like a stone?” “Kevin that’s not nice!” “Because ever since I was born I was taught to infiltrate, hack, pick locks, and kill.” They both just stopped and looked at her for the longest moment then Kevin opened his mouth “Are you an assassin?” “I’ve gotten the name The Crying Assassin.” “Are you going to kill us?” Kevin just wouldn’t shut up. “No, you are not on my hit list.” “You have a list?” “Not anymore.” that got him to quiet down, she had a rather large list that her last hit was the last one. In fact the day after she got the call that she was now dormant and that they would call her if they needed her. She never had to worry about running out of money, which was good as she didn’t know anything else besides what she did.

Then Victor’s aching heart for her starting getting an idea “So you don’t have to kill anymore.” “I’m dormant.” “What if we teach you emotions.” “I have emotions.” “A box of rocks isn’t emotions.” “Kevin! Shut up!” Victor threw a magazine at the roommate. “Ahhh…okay I’m going into my room…daddy.” “And stay there! No spam for you!” “Damnit.” and slammed the door obviously to Victor that he was playing. “Do you want me to kill him?” “No! no no no I like Kevin he’s just teasing.” She looked at him half puzzled but just kept the ‘Love’ picture held firmly against her body. “You’ll teach me?” He smiled and nodded “Yeah, I might ask some of my friends to help, but yeah I’ll teach you.” She nodded having no idea how hard this was going to be.
