This poem was published in my school LitMag, and I told my sister I'd post it. Hope ya like it!
Ah, those multicolored flames... The clear blue of the brilliant seas, Reminding us of the coming spring And good times still to come; The warm orange, Bright as the sun at noon And that tasty nectarine and its enticing aroma; And then the lovely yellow, As sour as lemons, Or as beautiful as the moonlight's glow; Not to mention the bruised purples, Reminders of a tragic past And the mysteries yet to come; Reminiscent of the darkest night, The storm clouds heavy with their loads. Oh! A clap of thunder, echoing in the empty night, Music for the stars to dance to As they move across the heavens. Move to the windows, Watch the pounding rain. Then settle back on the couch And observe the fires dancing In your lover's gleaming eye.
