Bombay's Random Writings
Random randomness from the mind of a wierd little person. That would be me.

Why was it Yoji always managed to get the last word and slip away before he even had a chance to say anything? That's how it had become lately, and Subaru was starting to think he had lost his touch. Well, of course he had; letting someone slip passed that wall at all had been a slip in itself. He supposed this is what he got for letting someone in.

Whether it was good or bad, he wasn't quite sure as of yet...

"Tonight?" Subaru pondered quietly as the other disappeared. A sigh left his lips and he shook his head. Well, whatever it was, as long as it wasn't a party with alcohol, he would be all right. That first incident with alcohol was still a very clear memory, even if it had happened almost two months ago. It was not something he was going to forget easily in his life time, considering it was a night of firsts for him entirely, and an embarassing one at that.

Hayashi entered the kitchen with a letter and handed it to his master, bowing slightly. "From your sister. She dropped it by this morning while you were sleeping, Sir." The man commented as Subaru took the envelope. A frown spread over the youth's face as he looked at the thing, almost as if expecting something to blow up inside.

"Thank you, Hayashi, that will be all." He mumbled half-heartedly. But instead of opening the letter right away, he merely placed it on the counter next to the jar of honey that would soon be spreading over his toast. Food was more important than anything his sister had to say, that was for sure.

The little toaster gave a pop as the bread popped from it, lightly toasted on either side, and Subaru pulled them out. Setting the toast on a plate, he proceded to put butter and honey on both, having a strange affinity for honey these days. But as he ate, his gaze traveled about the kitchen. Yoji might have been worried about him doing something all day, but really, what was there he could do? Disappear into the study to that book he'd been writing? Call up his parents who had been leaving messages on his phone the past week and a half to get him to confess that he's just pulling their leg still? None of it sounded like anything he wanted to just jump up and do well into the night.

Though, as his eyes wandered, his gaze fell on the little calender on the other side of the room, a frown appearing as he looked at the X's that marked off days - a bad habit he had gotten into when he was younger. And what day had yet to be marked off? White Day. "Not again." He mumbled with a sigh, shoulders slumping. He hated White Day. Valentine's had been worse every year usually, but during White Day, his parents forced him to get gifts for any females he knew, including his sister for some god-awful reason.

"Screw it." He mumbled, grabbing up his foot to shift to the little dining room across the hall. "I'm not doing that again. Not this year. I hate White Day. It's not even a real holiday." The dark-haired male grumbled to himself. Though, it did occur to him that maybe Yoji was doing something for the day.

'I should call him and tell him not to bother...' he thought, plopping himself down by the window, legs curled as he rested his plate against them. Judging by Subaru's history in isolation, it wasn't hard to tell that he hated the holiday. It was just like Valentine's, for lovers and sweethearts. All the gooey mushy stuff, just reversed gender. He hated it...

But why would Yoji even bother doing anything for the holiday? Subaru knew he had come to realize that he hated that kid of thing. Anything that had to do with love and others showing it, the young man hated it because of his background. He wouldn't try fluffing it up or something just to try and make Subaru happy, would he?

A frown spread over that pale face, and he quickly got up, snatching the phone from the nearby table. Plugging in the numbers for Yoji's cell phone, he sat back down, an arm folding across his chest.

"Hello?"
"Yoji? You'd better not be planning anything for this stupid holiday..."
