Hi kiddies! Me here again. Sorry I have no regular journal entry to give again, but I thought it was time for a journal entry.
So what is it today? Gravitation.
Okay here's what I need explained, what's so good about this series. Every time I see a "yaoi" thread in the A/M/C fangirls always say "Lyk OMG I LURV GRAVI, I'TS TEH BESTEST EVERAHHHHH!!!1!!"
It's not even a yaoi gonk !
Now if you know me you will know that I am an avid BL fan. However this series is the suxorz for me. It's horrible! Not only is it not a yaoi it is one of the worst anime/manga I've ever seen.
Here's why I think so:
1.All the characters are stereotypes... to the max.
Shuchi-Whiny uke
Yuki- Cold hard loner
K- even thought K was my favorite character he is the sterotypical violence and gun lovin' American
Tohma, or how ever you spell his name-Typical cheery friend who turns out to be evil.
Seriously give me a break. rolleyes
2. The story falls apart by volume 3 or so
I believe the moment Shuchi becomes famous was when the series could have ended. But more pointless and bad stuff happened, basically it was the same plot repeated six times. Shuchi loves Yuki, Yuki doesn't love Shuchi cries about it, Shuchi cross dresses, then something bad happens, Yuki and Shuchi get back together, rinse and repeat.
Again puh-lease!
3. Shuchi is the biggest Mary Sue ever. Okay maybe not ever but he is very high up there. Shuchi is cute and everyone loves him, even his friend seems to have a little attraction to him.
4. All of the characters engaged in homosexual acts are apparently "not gay". Shuchi is the most flamboyant thing I've ever seen, he is essentially a woman, but for some reason he insists that he is not gay. He either says that he is bi or straight, I can't remember, but it's one of those two. How can you be straight or bisexual if you have never had an attraction to a woman and was previously only attached to men? It just makes no sense. Also Thoma, don't get me started on Thoma. He has this weird thing for Yuki but insists that he loves his wife, it wasn't till much much later in the series that he showed any remote feeling for his wife. I also speculate the only reason he married Yuki's sister was because she looked almost exactly like Yuki except with breasts. ((I know that his love for Yuki comes from some sort of brotherly love thing, but doesn’t his love seem more then that?))
5. The later half of the series was complete nonsense. The manga went from being essentially the stereotypical shojo to becoming some horrible mess with a Panda robot. I couldn't read ten pages without encountering some sort of gun. However in the anime the whole thing was like this. As you can imagine I automatically stopped watching the anime.
I believe this is it. All of the reasons why I strongly dislike Gravitation. Now you are free to tell me why you like Gravitation and I will not flame you or your views, you may also tell me why you think it is a good show, again I will not hurt of flame you for doing so. However I will not tolerate people who say "OMG Gravi is so hottt how can you say this, you sux!" Those comments I will delete and put in my next journal entry.
