Gaia used to be a place that was mainly forum based and filled with people buzzing about and debating topics and enjoying the community while earning gold (and ONLY gold) to buy items for avatars. Since its beginning, Gaia has added more and more site features until the point where it has abolished any true need for the forums and become a game site that revolves around a project that hasn't even come out of beta yet. I remember when games were nonexistent and the daily chance was the newest thing around... back before Gaia cash existed and there were only a handful of shopkeepers... back when there was no better way to earn gold than to be a pollwhore. Gaia, I miss those days and, while I love puzzles and a few additions, changing the site to revolve around ZOMG has taken a last stab at an already dying site idea. There will soon be no Gaia community to speak of and more and more games will be taxing the art department while programmers keep feeding off coffee to stand creating new games every few months.
Please, Gaia, slow down the change. Stop turning the Gaian world to cash. Don't make this a ZOMG site... make it Gaia: a community.
