“Who are you?” Seanna asked. Mabye I can distract them long enough for my brother to wake up. I hope.

“Who am I? Why in the world would I tell you that? I’ll tell you what I am, not who. I’m a mercenary, I was hired to kill you and your brother,” He said. Seanna’s blood ran cold. If so, why am I not dead already? He had a chance. I have to do something. She forced her body to relax, as if she were giving up. Her enemy’s grip on his kunai slackened.

“Giving up? I expected more of a fight,” he said. Seanna suddenly kicked her foot backwards, hitting him where no guy ever wants to be hit. He dropped like a stone in pain. She jumped away. He slowly got up and looked at her.

“I should’ve seen that one coming,” he said. She got a good look at him, he was tall, almost as tall as her brother. He had short black hair and dark blue eyes. He had a cocky expression. I need to be careful, I’m tired from lack of sleep and the earlier fight. She didn’t know where her broadsword was so she grabbed her hidden dagger. He looked at her for a second.

“You don’t look like much of a fighter. This should be easy,” he said, smiling. He rushed at her, aiming to hit her in the head. That’s just plain rude… She moved out of the way and slashed at him, but he managed to avoid most of the attack, just getting a shallow cut on the arm.

“Well, your fast, but I garuntee you aren’t as fast as me,” he said. He moved quick and got behind her. He hit her in the back and she went flying to the wall. She hit it hard, it knocked the breath out of her. She was stunned, barely able to move. He came toward her again, this time with a sword. She could tell by the way he held it he wasn’t playing anymore. I’ve got to do something. She got up but was barely able to stay up, let alone fight. Time seemed to slow, she closed her eyes. She heard someone call her name. Must be Onken, I hope he gets away. Her enemy swung the sword, but then, there was nothing. No pain. I’m alive, how? She opened her eyes and saw someone in front of her and blood. She looked up and saw spikey red hair.

“Aru?” She said.

“ Hey,” was his response. He had taken the blow meant for her to the arm. Her enemy jumped back. Her brother came around the corner,

“What is going on here?” He yelled. Seeing he was outnumbered, the enemy grabbed his fallen teammate and left. Seanna let out a sigh of relief. Her knees suddenly felt weak and she dropped to the floor.

“Seanna?” Aru said.

“Thanks for helping me,” she said. She forced herself up and sat down on the couch. Aru came over and sat down beside her. Her brother came over and ssat on the other side of her.

“Are you all right?” Onken asked her.

“Yeah, just tired. But Aru has a nasty cut on his arm. Can you go get my medicine bag?” She asked. He got up and left. Seanna looked up at Aru.

“ Aru, I didn’t get a chance to tell you earlier but….. I really like you, more than as a friend,” she said. He didn’t respond for a moment.

“Really? Because I like you too, I just wasn’t brave enough to say anything…” he replied. They looked at each other and very slowly shared a kiss.

“I got it!” Onken said, walking into the room. Seanna and Aru sprang apart blushing. Onken looked at them and sighed.

“I should’ve seen that one coming,” he said.


The next day Seanna got up and thought about the attack that night. Who would hire someone to kill me and my brother? I could understand me but Onken’s never made anyone mad before. Oh well, I need to stop worrying and concentrate on how I’m going to train three students. She got up and got dressed. She wore an orange tank top and black pants. She also put on her long black jacket. She headed to the training grounds. At least I get to see Aru, after my brother came in he left quick. She laughed to herself. She got to the training grounds a little early. She wanted to see if any of them showed up early. She sat there for a minute or two when the three of them showed up. They were laughing and talking, then when they saw her they came over and stood with Kara in the middle.

“Are you three ready to show me what you can do?” Seanna said.

“Yes, we are,” Kara said.

“Then attack me with all you’ve got.” She said. Kara said something and Yoru and Sachi came at her, both with katanas. Seanna blocked them both with her broadsword and looked for Kara. She saw movement behind her, it was Kara. She did some hand signs and the wind picked up and through Seanna into the air. She landed on her feet. Nice, Sachi and Yoru were the distractions while Kara came up behind.

“That was good, now your goal is to land another hit on me, this one drawing blood,” she said. Sachi ran at her, Seanna expected her to attack and got ready to block. Yoru and Kara came in together, Kara now with a sword. She block Kara’s strike only to get hit by Yoru’s sword.

“Good. You three will do I suppose,” Seanna said.
