• Jingle bells are jingling,
    Carolers are singing,

The star on the tree is twinkiling,
    All because it's Christmas Eve.

    Powdery snow is falling,
    All the children start calling,

    "Mom, Dad! The Snow!"
All of this on Christmas Eve.

    Running out into the snow,
The children can't believe their eyes,

Their seeing snow for the first time,
All of this on Christmas Eve.

    Mom and Dad start calling,
    The children are stalling,

They want to stay out in the snow,
Out in the cold on Christmas Eve.

    Looking up into the sky,
The kids can not believe their eyes,

    Fly up way up high,
Are Ol' Saint Nick and his reindeer.

"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!" He calls out,
As the children begin to shout,

They wave and wave as he disappears,
    Then suddenly run inside.

Again, they could not believe their eyes,
Under the tree, to their surprise,

    Presents lay ready to open,
All of this on Christmas Eve.

    Unable to control them,
Mom and Dad let them open their presents,

    Watching their happy faces.

    Play and play they did,
Soon it came time for bed.

They whined and whined, but soon gave up,
    Not able to stay up.

Mom and Dad put them to bed,
Pressing soft kisses to their heads,

    When little Johnny said,
"This has been the best Christmas Eve!"
