• What is death? What does it feel like? Will my family abandon me forever? Will I shrivel up and die from abandonment? Well, let’s see if they will. I looked up to my family leaving me alone in their big, dusty, and as well abandoned house. “Hey little one… Don’t worry, I will take care of you…” Someone spoke to me from the behind, I twirled around, and I saw a young man with black hair, red eyes that seemed cold yet gentle. “Are-are you a vampire?” I asked, and my heart started to beat faster, and faster. He leaned over to me, holding out his hand to me, and said, “You will soon find out, trust me.” I took his hand, and that was the beginning of my crazy life.

Fifteen years passed, and I am still living with a vampire that is amazing and gentle. His name is Night. He took me in when I was eleven. That was when my family abandoned me for no reason. Night walked into my room, while I was writing in my journal, and he was carrying tea tray set. He set it down on my dresser, and he looked at me with his brown eyes that seemed to glow red. “Are you okay about going to the school with other vampires?” He asked me, and I looked up to him. “Oh yeah, I will be just fine!” I answered excitedly, yet sounding petrified. “Miromi, all I wish for you is to be better, and be safe. You don’t need all of that impure fear in your heart.” Night said, taking a step towards me, and I sighed. I set down my journal, and spoke, “Well, I suppose so I can’t help it. My heart always seem to race when I see a vampire close to me.” Night sat besides me on my bed, and he was looking at the picture I had on my dresser. “Perhaps, it could be better if you went to the school, and you will realize that vampires aren’t that scary…” He spoke to me, and I shrugged feebly. “I don’t really care anymore, it like not going do that good to me…” I told him, and he looked at me rapidly, his eyes pierced through me. “Don’t say that, you understand?” He said harshly to me but then his eyes softened. He turned around, facing me, and my heart started to beat rapidly. I thought it would jump out of my throat. “You know, if you really want to become into a vampire, you can always come to me, and remember that, please.” He told me, and I felt my face turn hot, and red. He started to lean towards to me, my heart just jumped into my throat, is he going to turn me into a vampire? He stopped when the doorbell rang, and he looked at me. “Just wait there, my little one.” He spoke softly and got up. He walked out of my room, and hell, my heart was beating so fast when he leaned in, so close to me. I could smell his cologne… I blushed a little, and I heard a bang downstairs. I gasped, and ran downstairs. It sounded like a gunshot, oh no please don’t let Night to be shot!
“What are you doing?” Night roared at a man with a gun in his hand. “You need to be dead, that what my council requires…” The shadowy man said with a cigarette in his mouth. “Disgusting. Why does the humans want to kill me?” Night asked him, with his arm up, preparing to defend himself. “Ah, it looks like you have a girl here...” The man spoke, and he pointed his gun at Night. “No!” I screamed, and I ran in front of Night. “Miromi, don’t do this please…” Night whispered and pushed me out of the way. He was baring his vampire fangs at the man with the gun. “Oh, ho, ho, you’re baring fangs at me? That won’t scare me, you ugly vampire!” He yelled with his gruffly voice and fired his gun. I looked at Night wide-eyed, and he was looking at me gently. Slowly, his eyes glowed red, and he smiled. He stopped the bullet in mid air, and I gasped. “But how?” The vampire hunter spoke, and Night moved his right hand; the bullet turned around, and said, “The bullet will not stop moving until it hits the target.” He smirked, and the bullet flew towards the vampire hunter. It struck him in his arm, and he yelled out in pain. “Why you…” He was going to curse under his breath but Night was grasping his neck, holding him in mid air. He was like a fish out of the water, gasping for his breath. “You should go die in a hole, filthy human.” Night spoke his hateful words and threw the man outside, across the street. Night curled his lips as the vampire slayer was hit by a car, and knocking him out.
“Night! Are you okay?” I screamed in fear, and ran to him. Clinging onto him, and he patted my head. “Don’t worry a thing about me, and shall we continue where we left off?” He spoke to me, and I gasped. I looked up to him, wide eyed, and he was smiling gently to me. He pushed me, making a space between us, and he leaned over. His breath was misty and nice. I exhaled it, and it was truly mouthwatering. My heart start to beat errantly again, and he was staring at my eyes. I was truly hypnotized, and he pressed his lips against my lips. Making a crushing kiss. I closed my eyes, felt my head become all loopy, and his lips lifted off my lips. They moved down to my neck, grazing at the nape of my neck. I could feel his fangs, how sharp they feel, and they were probably sharper than the knife we have in the kitchen. He actually bit me in my neck, sinking his fangs into my neck, and it was odd feeling. I thought I should break away from this, I started to push him, but he locked me in his arms, making me immobile. “Night…” I spoke, and my tears started to come out my eyes. They streamed down on my cheek, and Night broke away, and he had my blood streaming down on corner of his lips. He was smiling gently, his eyes seemed to be soft but there’s something behind it, like evilness or darkness. I felt myself lurch, and I felt dizzy. He actually bit me, drank my blood but also kissed me… I stumbled over, falling into Night’s arms. “Are you okay, Miromi?” He asked me gently, and caressed me in his arms. I looked up at him, and all I did is squeak with no answer. He made his ‘worried’ face, and he kissed me on my forehead.
“You may go to bed, drink your tea, and rest.” He told me, and I nodded feebly. Still feeling flushed, and I still went upstairs. My neck wasn’t bleeding or anything which it is good. I walked into my bedroom, and I looked at my tea tray set, took my polished, white teacup. I sipped the tea; it tingled in my mouth, and all of the sudden it made me sleepy. Why did Night bit me? I never asked him to but yet I wanted it in my heart. Perhaps he could read my feelings… I yawned, and fell on my bed backwards. I looked at my ceiling, and curled up into a ball. I closed my eyes, and floated off into my dream world.

    ***********

I woke up, and it was morning already. My dreams were a little bit unpleasant but I didn’t really care. I realized that today is hen I will go to the high school. To be honest, I am scared, and I did not want to leave Night, even though he bit me. He is the only one who makes me all safe and warm. I removed the blanket off me, and rubbed my eyes. The sun shone through my blinds, and it warmed me up when it set on me. A knock came to my closed door, and it made me jump. “May I come in?” Night spoke behind the door, and I smiled. “Sure.” I answered to him, and the door creaked open. He was holding something in his hand, and it glistened. “About last night…” Night started to talk, and I broke off his sentence. “No really, it’s okay.” I told him, knowing that he was worried how I was feeling. “Are you sure?” Night said, sitting next to me on my bed. “Yeah.” I told him, giving him my warm smile. “You’re someone that I don’t truly understand, ha.” Night chuckled, and I shot him a look. He looked at me, and he looked away. “Why did you do this?” I asked him, and Night was looking away from, he was pressing his lips together. “Then why did you bite me? You could have turned me into a vampire, luckily you don't have enough power to change me into one!” I yelled at him, throwing my pillow at him. He got up with no answer, and walked out of his room. He was mad at me, wasn’t he? I started to cry, and curled up into a ball on my soft, and warm bed...

    To be continued….
