• "But dad the kids at school hate me!" she complained to her father. "That doesn't matter you are going and that's final!". She stormed out of the room and got her stuff together. The only thing he didn't know was that everyday she goes to school the kids beat her and shove her around. She hated her life. Her mother died when she was three and her father has been taking care of her ever since. She didn't have any friends and nobody liked her. She mostly sat quietly and read if she got the chance.

She hopped on the bus and rode to school. She could run away she thought as voices behind her started rumors. Devising a plan to run away would be easy. She knew that there was a forest nearby. No one ever went into the forest and those who did don't come back. While thinking about these silly stories she'd heard from when she was little her dads voice came into her head..."Don't ever go into the forest. It is a dangerous place were u can get lost easily." The perfect thing she needed.

She went to her regular classes, and kids joked about her and pushed her down. "Finally!" she thought as she came out for recess. As she started heading to the fence she heard faint footsteps behind her that she ignored. After a while she looked over her shoulder and saw the gang of kids following her. She looked forward not minding anything of it because she knew they would not follow her into the forest. She kept walking and heard their pace fasten. They were now jogging toward her. One of the boys yelled "Hey were you going. Doesn't seem like u to skip school." She ignored the boy thinking about what she was going to do if they ran toward her to stop her. She didn't have time to waist to get to the forest and no one could see her enter.

They darted for her all of them running fast. She jetted around a corner of the school. Now with the forest in sight she ran a maze between her and her foes between the buildings. She had lost about four of them in the maze but two were still following her she found a two way intersection between buildings knowing that will split them up, but one would still be on her tail. She dashed to her right. Running out of stamina she thought of her mother. Though she did not know her that well the pure image of her gave her the will. The boys split up as planned and now the one was on her tail. She was in the start of a grassy field that led up to the forest. Surely he would pursue her and see her run into the forest but that doesn't matter She ran for it as fast as she could. Hearing the boys voice behind her assured her he was there. "Stop little girl I won't hurt you. Where are you going?" asked the voice. She ignored him and began slowing down. She couldn't help it she was tired. The boy ran up to her and grabbed her from behind. She responded with her elbow in his gut and her other fist in his face. With another blow aimed at his nose would surely knock him out. She took the shot and hit. With a whimpering cry the boy went down without a sound on the grass. He was out for sure.

She ran to the forest and ran for what seemed decades. Deep in the forest she knew she had accomplished her goal. She was in the middle of nowhere completely lost for not even her father to find her. The sound of a creak drew her in and she followed it until she found a lake. A river was flowing into it and she wondered where it exited. She rushed to the water and filled her hands. Lifting the water to her mouth she drank it immediately spitting it out at its foul taste. Her mouth longed for water so much she drank it anyway and splashed her face with it too. Drenched in exhaustion she laid down and fell asleep in the sand, forgetting about everything...

Wakes up lying in the sand where she fell asleep after stranding herself. She gets up looking around. It was dark still but she could see fine. As the sun was taking its time rising and composing beautiful colors in the sky she went to find something to eat. As she was walking she climbed over bushes and found a vine. This vine appeared to bear fruit. She took off her jacket and gently put handfuls of berries in her jacket. She kept walking into the cold until she found herself at the edge of a cliff. She walked to the edge and looked at the vast amount of land that lay before her. As she watched the sun peak out from around the far mountains she thought to herself "Where am I? This can't be real... can it?". Just as she said this out loud a boys voice came from behind her. "Of course its real! Why wouldn't it be!". She turned around quickly startled by the voice. Before her was a tall, dark figure that leaned against a tree. He was a thin boy wearing long pants, and a hoodie. He carried a backpack as if he lived on the trail. As she stared unknowing of what to say, he responded saying "Well what are you doing here, lost? Are you hungry?" All the girl could say was "Yes, but who are you?".
