• Chapter 4

I drive my yellow Porsche up Gerard's driveway and I jump out the door pulling the keys out of the ignition. I grab my bags and walk up to the door of his apartment, unlock the door and walk in. I throw all of my things on the couch and toss my coat aside the spot I've chosen to sit at.
"What're you doing here?" A young voice asks me. I turn my upper body around to see Gerard's brother Mikey behind me.
    "Marraige problems."
    "Did he find out?"
"About what? Gerard and me or Gerard and me?"
    "Either one." Mikey sighs.
I sit up straight. "I'm really not sure. Fersure he knows I've ran to your house, but Jade hopefully doesn't know where it is. He's also not stupid enough to actually try and find me here."
"Hay babay!" Gerard walks out of his room with a big smile on his face and his arms open wide. I get up and run into him. He holds me tight.
"I've left him. We need to go back tonight and get a few more things." My last word was broken into two syllables with a sob. Fresh tears make streaks on my face, replacing the ones that had dried up in the car.
"Do you want to add Jade to our list?"
I thought for a moment. Do I really want to do that to the man I've married? "Not yet," I tell him. Gerard nods, understanding.
Mikey grabs my bags and follows Gerard and me into the bedroom. He throws my things onto Gerard's bed and leaves. I tell him "Thank you."
Gerard pulls me onto my lap once he sits down. He rocks me side to side and whispers in my ear:
"It will be alright. I'm here. You can stay with me as long as you like."
I nod, trying to keep myself from bursting out with tears.
"I love you," He reminds me. "Demolition Lovers forever."
"I know," I whisper back. He pulls me with him as he lays down. My legs now intertwine with his as we look into each other's eyes. The last time I looked at him like this was almost a year ago but I never forgot how amazing it felt. I felt as if I could just swim in them and sink deeper and deeper into that brown sea. It was only in these moments when I truly knew what was going on in this murderer's head: love. Pure, fiery, intesnse love, but there was a coldness to it. He loved something else. I knew exactly what that something else was- it was the feeling he got each time he saw a life taken away by his own hands. I knew that because that's how I felt each time I took a knife to a man's skin, each time I saw a man scream in pain caused by myself. It was amazing.
Gerard smiles. "You have your gun this time?"
I laugh. "Of course." He lets go of me and I pull the silver beauty out of my coat pocket. I walk toward Gerard as he sits up. I hold the gun out to him, and his smile widens. He takes hold of it, admiring the skillful engravment of Demolition followed by a rose on the metal.
"Do you want to have some fun tonight?" he asks me.
    "Of course I do."
He presses his lips to mine. Nothing amazing but my heart beats faster. His tongue pushes against mine and my heart races. He presses his body closer and our legs and arms intertwine again and my heart wants to give out. Tonight will be amazing.
