• “ The leaves are piling up out side.” I said while staring absent-mindedly out the window. “ Maybe you should help me with the baking instead of wasting your time looking outside?” Replied Disuke. I didn’t budge. “Their coming,” I said closing my eyes. “ There almost near the capital.” I didn’t even control my words. They just flew out of my mouth like a bird. Then flew into Disuke’s ears. He hurriedly kept kneading the maple bread dough he was making. Half an hour later after my outburst I went over to him and started cutting the fruit with a pocketknife. Then when I finished one fruit, I would plop it into a pot filled with boiling sugar and water.
Disuke is my younger twin brother, even though we look nothing alike. For example: his hair is frosty blue while mine is rusty salmon colored, long and put in a ponytail near the right side of my head. His eyes are bright green. My eyes are just plain old brown, the color of a tree stump, and a rotting one at that. Disuke can cook and clean. I can use a large broad sword. He wears a white shirt with an aqua green chest plate. I wear one shoulder pad made with hard shell, a brown tank to that stops at my waist and shorts. While father and mother were alive they would call me the good for nothing child, like I couldn’t do anything right. Disuke was their pride and joy. “ Kirika?” asked Disuke breaking me form my doubting trance. “Kirika, you already cut the fruit… your cutting your fingers….” “Oh darn!” I shouted.
The pain came flooding to my hand where the blood flowed. The cut was like a long red river, marking the area where my fingers met my palm. Disuke looked pale and got a small cloth to soak up some blood and stop the bleeding. “Kirika…” he said fear enveloping his voice. “ its just a …” was all I could manage before I blacked out. “Kirika!” some one shouted in the darkness. “W-who’s calling my name?” I asked into nowhere. “Kirika… we need you.” Came the voice again. This time it was closer. Ka-clop ka clop ka clop. A hoarse was near to me. It was black. Upon it stood a man clothed in black bear skins. He had a deer skull mask. His skin was greyer than the color of flesh. Back hair trialed behind him in river of cascading in ripples. His beard was long and tangled. The mask hid most of his face. His eyes were blood shot. He reached his arm out to me. It was covered with black scars it was reach towards my neck and
“ No!” I yelled awakening into up right position. Disuke was there in a second. “What is it Kirika, you gave me a heart attack!” he said Managing to sound in charge. At this I laughed for no apparent reason. Disuke joined in laughing. “ What are you two youngsters doing that’s so funny eh? “ asked Ripuet, one of our elders. His skin was old and folding. He was dressed in red robes, the color of black cherry juice. One robe was the color of mangos. I told Him of my dream. His face turned solemn. “ It seems the death raiders are upon us.” He said. Disuke joined in “ she said they were almost near the capital of Oromar.” Ripuet Looked at me and told me to follow him. Ripuet took the bandage off my hand. We were appalled. The cuts mark looked like a rune marking. These were only found on the right hand of chosen warriors. Ripuet took out an old tome, flipped thought the tanned and old pages and finally said “ aha! You are a chosen one my child! There is no mistaking it!” I was very surprised by this. “ What?” I asked Looking surprised, well I was. “It has to be a mistake.” I replied to my own words. I was now desperate. “ I- Im just a small girl who has a sword and,” “Hush child, what sword do you speak of.” Ripuet asked still with a solemn look of question. “ I have a broadsword, it’s red granite and,” He cut me off as he lifted the granite blade to the moon light. Upon the blade marks were inscribed. The hilt looked like a crab claw and the blade was jagged like fire. Ripuet stared at Cancer’s fire in awe until Disuke asked “ can we get back to making maple fruit bread?” “Yes.” I answered in a state oh hysteria. A good distraction would help“ And I will help.” Replied Ripuet finally lowering my blade, Cancer’s fire.
Since this part of the story is mainly cooking, cutting, and meaningless words I will tell you about the Death raiders or Delurth soldiers. These are men and wild dogs that terrorize towns and get more men to help them. They have conquered dank reagons and out region called Oromar. Like I said I felt them come near but something powerful stops them at the border. I have always wondered what that was…

My father was said to have joined the Delurth soldiers but I never believed that. “ Mmmmmm.” I said as I took a large bite out of one sugared fruit. Disuke laughed saying “ good to know the chosen one has a good appetite.” I shot him a look that said ‘oh I forgot to laugh.’ He held his hands up in surrender. Ripuet, Disuke, and I were all laughing.

Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Ka clop. Echoed inside my dream (which was more like a nightmare). I saw Ripuet, but he was locked I combat with the Delruth solider. He was the black bear knight. My sword was taken by Ripuet to battle with. The black bear knight swung an axe the size of my sword at him. CHING- I was suddenly blocking the blow with my shoulder pad. My eyes felt like they were made from fire. The ground below was like black spotless marble. I looked down. In my reflection my eyes were the color of blood. Where every I looked red tainted my gaze. My fiery eyes couldn’t see the black bear knight. I awoke with my eyes still feeling like fire. I got up and walked over to the mirror. I couldn’t speak. My shoulder pad had a crack in it. My eyes were blood colored. Poke. “ Go away....”. Poke. “GO AWAY DISUKE I WILL COME AFTER YOU FOR THIS!” poke… “Urgh I’m awake. Already stop it.” I urged. Disuke had a fire poker in his hand. It wasn’t far from my arm. I was sleeping on the floor. My shoulder guard was fine. When I looked around, there was no tinted gaze. “I’m sleeping on the floor?” I asked. Confusing. I have a dream where I wake up. Then a fire poker pokes me, to wake me up. So I am awake, or am I? One word. Freaky.

“Did you have a nice sleep princess?” Disuke teased. I got to my feet. “No, maid and isn’t it laundry day.” I replied with a snide look. Disuke stopped laughing. He stared in awe at my skill for witty comebacks. To be truthful I do the laundry every Moon season. This was the setting sun month season or you would say, autumn.

We ate breakfast. Just the two of us. I ate so much. “Where’s Ripuet?” Disuke asked. “he has his way of disappearing.” I answer while chewing some hard mill bread. I got up and walked over to a large stone out side. There was a thunderous sound of splashing. I took off my belt and jumped into the cold white foaming water. All around me was black marble. I started to swim away. Away form all the pain and hurt. To some place. Safe.... Yes safe just like the big strong walls of reselif....
