• Honor and Compromise
This was our last raid on the covenant we were running out of reinforcements; our men were losing their will, and over our entire last transport frigate went down in a search and rescue mission to and from that accursed city. Our first mission was to infiltrate Honor and Compromise the last of the covenant battle cruisers and make it out with the last of the UNSC. As always the Master Chief leaded the mission he was a determined one always willing to put himself in the face of death over and over. We entered the city undetected in a group of 3 banshee’s and 2 phantoms. Luckily we had the arbiter with u s as well. We safely made it into the city.
This raid wasn’t easy, we hadn’t noticed a couple of camouflaged elites, but once they revealed their identity to the arbiter, it became all clear to us. We weren’t alone on this mission, he never told us until after the raid. Jenkins “CHIEF! Here they are but what the hell is on them” Chief “look like the flood are here as well, we better keep an eye out for any flood in the premises.” For hours we searched undetected, cell after cell, bodies after bodies. As the count went up our hopes went down. As we were beginning to depart a group of marines ran out towards us but something seemed different about them, something was wrong! They just didn’t seem to be themselves, they didn’t seem human!?
Doors in the transport ships were sealed shut so no remaining covenant or the possible flood could get in. So we left, back to earth, but we had to make a quick stop on the way home. Johnson “We are coming into Halo’s Atmosphere” Marines “Halo? I thought we destroyed them all?” Johnson “The UNSC did a full cosmic scan and there are more of there hell holes out there.” This was the forth Halo! We really didn’t know what our mission was until we landed on the surface of the ring but damn if we knew that this was going to be hell if we made it out alive. As we started to venture around on the surface of the ring we noticed that we hadn’t seen any sign of either covenant of flood.
Just about 3 hours later after scanning the surrounding area we finally found an abandon brute camp. Inside the structure at the camp we found marine armor, and brutes. Mendoza “Sarge! Look brutes.” Johnson “Well what do you know these apes somehow managed to find this ring, they have common sense after all.” Chief “There are signs of a battle, ammo cartridges, empty magazines.” Arbiter” Elites Spread out and look for flood!” The elites went off in search of flood, hopefully they don’t find any. If anything I hope they find only dead flood.
Jenkins “Johnson are you seeing this?” Johnson “what is it marine, show me” Mendoza “OH MY GOD SARGE WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!?” Johnson “I don’t know but what ever it is it must have a weakness.” As the enormous creature emerged from the shadows we surely thought that we were going to die. That was until the Master Chief told us to evacuate and head off toward the elites. We radioed in and found the location of the elites luckily they had no sign of the flood. The Arbiter went back to the Master Chiefs position to assist.
As the Arbiter helped fight off the creature we suddenly realized that this ring was different from the rest. This ring was more dangerous, larger than the rest, and possibly even more destructive. Chief “How much longer until we get rid of this thing” Arbiter “ I don’t know but we must destroy it before it destroys us” Johnson (using radio, Static throughout transitions) “Chief…. Arbiter…. Can you hear me…..? We are going ahead with the elites…… You keep that thing as far away from us as much as you can... Johnson out” Chief “Good luck Johnson... Marines.” Arbiter “Good luck my brothers.” Elites “Good luck to you as well Arbiter.”
We went on with the Elites but we had a feeling in our guts that they weren’t going to come back alive. As far as we knew this was an entirely different creature. Marine “Sarge is that creature even in our database.” Johnson “I don’t know marine keep moving we’ll talk about it later.” Marine “All I’m saying is, is that where did all the bodies go?” Johnson “Who knows where they are and who the hell wants to know.” Marine “Look up ahead.” Mendoza “It looks like a beacon.” Johnson “I don’t know what it is but search high and low for any signs of marine, or covenant.”
Chief “As far as we know this isn’t flood, we need to kill this thing and get a sample of it.” Arbiter “We must work together to take this creature down.” Chief “You attack from the front, and I’ll attack from the back.” Arbiter nods. As they flank the beast, the Marines and the Elites head under the structure in search of life forms. Elites (radio transmition) “We found them!”
