Welcome my friends to the lush green planet called “Enthera.” Upon this lush green, fertile planet three races live; the Elves, Human, and Halflings. There are far more inhabitants then just these three mind you. Pixies, demons, fairies, dryads, half-demons, elemental spirits, dragons, and much more live upon Enthera.
Now let’s no dwell on what lives on Enthera, but let me explain the foundations of the other realms that are connected with the mortal realm; this will be very helpful later on. Normally we don’t called them realms, we call them “Plains.”
They are as follow:
Mortal- Where all mortal beings live.
Underworld- Realm of the damned.
Eternal Plain- The realm where the pure souls rest.
Realm of Time- Where all exist and at the same time is destroyed for ever.
Elemental Realms- The realms where Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, and Spirit all exist in their purest form. Each has it own separate realms, all of which are connected.
Realm of the Gods- Where the divine walk.
Now there is a great legend that also must be told: “In times of great suffering or when the balance of power is uneven then five sacred beings will be chosen by the Gods and Goddess to balance the power and protect Enthera. Each Guardian will be a master of one element. They will be Enthera’s saviors and if should ever fail, Enthera will die.”
Intro
Long ago a seed was planted in the Realm of Time. As the seed took root a poison began to spread through the realm. The poison fed on the realm’s power and grew stronger. This poison was beyond any other, it could not be sensed or be seen by anyone or thing, but it left a mark that appeared as a root’s shadow. In turn the seed grew into an unholy tree which leaves were pure blood. These leaves when fell from the tree became demons and devils that could travel the realms. Out of all the realms only one was infected; the realm of the living. Their reason for coming is still unknown.
Slowly armies grew in the realm of the living and a plan to shatter the governments and higher powers was set into place. The plan was to spill the blood of the next heir to the thrones. The first to be killed was a High Elf priestess. Her death would be the starting point of the nightmarish war. The priestess was killed as she meditated in the grand temple. Fully aware of her coming death she called upon the sacred elements; Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Spirit to send their greatest guardians to help stop the darkness before anymore blood could be shed.
Hearing her plead they sent their greatest warriors and mages to the living realm to fight the threat while their guardians searched for the tree in the Realm of Time. To this day the war that happened long ago has almost been completely forgotten and as the happening of the tree is still a mystery. All that is truly known is that to protect the realms from darkness the Guardians gave up their bodies and took the form of five stones that were given to five clans. Now darkness is returning and the Guardians have yet to return, if they don’t return then may the gods have mercy on our souls.
Several Thousand years later…
The fires of the birthing hut in the Wolves of Northern Winds clan blazed as a new-born nuzzled sleepily into a white fur cradle. His mother was silently nursing the rest of her litter as she awaited news from the counsel on her son. She licked the head of last new-born that had a small puff of crimson hair and low brown ears.
She feared what the council might declare, for lately they had been on edge of her time of birth growing near, but their lips remained sealed. It was deep past the marking hour when all of the litter was asleep and she could look upon her son whose faint was clouded. She had heard of primitive beast that killed the young that wouldn’t last and she feared they may put him to death. Though she had never heard of such a thing among her clan, this still didn’t dim her fears in the least.
The door slid open and in stepped an aged wolf demon elder, face hidden behind his long silver hair and heavy ash robe. He wobbled to the cradle on an oak cane and was accompanied by two female and three males. The mother could feel her heart skip beats as the tapping of the cane on the floor echoed in her ears.
“The child, he carries the stone alright.” The elder spoke aloud in a deep, wise voice. Those who accompany him encircled the cradle, leaving the mother in the shadows of their wake.
“He’s a danger to the clan. Can we seal off the power?” One of woman asked in a concerned voice.
“If we must we will…” A deep masculine voice called with the sliding of blade against its sheath.
The mother burst into tears and charged at the group. Knocking the men to the floor she scooped up the baby and backed away with him close to her breast. She backed to the middle of the open room with thoughts of escape screaming in her thoughts.
The Elder tapped his cane loudly. “No, no, the child shall be trained and grow like the others but he carries very dangerous power. He shall leave the clan when he is ready, he will find a mate.” The Elder coughed hoarsely. “If he carries the stone then the others must have awakened. Besides, no mortal mean could ever kill this child. Now we depart.”
The Elder and company left as quietly as they came, leaving the mother crying while she clutched her child. Though tears of joy, she still cried those of sorrow. She would wrap herself in a warm blanket and cry herself to sleep. Deep within the Cherry Blossom the Lunar Blossom Cat-demon clan had just decided the fate of a newborn; it was the same as the wolf child’s.
Still more bizarre happenings continued, at the Temple of Nalith a baby was placed upon the stoop with a sea-blue blanket covering her frail body. The Priestess within sensed the surge of unnamed energy and quickly gathered the girl into her arms and welcomed her to the warmth of the temple fires.
“You’re different aren’t you?” Coo the Priestess as she rocked the baby back and forth with a sweet melody playing on a small set of soft holy bells dinging the rhythm of “Sweet Dreaming Child.” “Is it time for you to return already?” A glossed black marble slipped from her robe and dangled in mystical silence.
She looked towards the window and gazed upon the waning moon. “The spirits are dancing, demons are distressed, and flames are strong. They’re born again I see.” Her voiced faded into the melody of the bells and the creatures of the night.
