• With each step I took air was being sucked out of my lungs. I ran down the empty trail adorned with streetlamps. Hair stuck to my back and my face. I held the package close to my bosom gripping it with all my might. Footsteps behind me made me run even faster. Pain crawled up my legs. No! I will not let them have it! I thought. I ran with the pain and ran to my left where a lit building came into my sight. I slowed my pace not hearing anything behind me. My mistake. A loud crack and instant pain. One scream escaped from my throat. The concrete became crismon and wet. There were no shadows I could make out, but I could sense something over my body. Something was being pulled from my grasp. The presence was gone. I failed. The only thing I saw was the building I so desperately tried to run to. Shadows danced in the windows. Only if I had been faster! Only if I had been more cautious! Only if.... My thoughts wandered. I heard a scream. I didn't know if it was me. Someone came to my side. I had no strength to fight back. Light flooded my vision.
