To All Whom It May Concern...
Till death do us part has finally come. Do not come looking, for by the time you read this I will be in my grave.
    -Emilia Lumiere, January 1920

The note, crumpled and stained like a letter straight from the grave should be, floated out of Sicily's gloved hand. The goggles had begun to fog up from the cold, and she wiped them with her finger. Had her great-grandmother lived, she would be much richer; maybe residing somewhere in Florence, lounging on a chair with her parents. But in reality, Sicily was forced to lurk around London like Oliver Twist, lost and alone, stealing each day's small meals. It was a miracle she was still alive. Of course, Emilia's identity was a mystery to the 12 year old urchin, and her future was as well.
