    tab I looked over the second verse, then the song; looking pretty good so far. But now I’m stumped. I can’t find anything else to write.
    tab I logged on to IM, to see if I could ask Haley for ideas. Instead, Derik was on, and we started to chat.

    tab There was a pause, and then Derik typed:

    tab My fingers froze. Did he just say that he liked me? Well, it’s not too much of a surprise because Haley told me (once again...she was right...), but I was still shocked.

    tab A few minutes passed by, then I just had to type:

    tab I logged off, smiling.

    Later, I called Haley, and once again, told her everything
    tab “See. I told you!”
    tab I smiled. “Why do you always have to be right?”
    tab “I just am.”
    tab We talked and talked until dinner time.
    tab “See you tomorrow.” Haley concluded.
    tab “Bye, oh and don’t forget to bring extra money for Jamba Juice!” I laughed, and then hung up. I had totally forgotten about Jamba Juice tomorrow with Derik and Haley! I spent all my money on my new boots. I don’t want to ask my mom, because she’ll ask why I need it and I don’t want her to know, My dad nor Haley would give me any, and it would be rude to ask Derik.
    tab I burrowed through the pockets of my jeans and jackets and found ten dollars and thirty one cents. Hopefully that’s enough!
    tab “Tory,” mom opened my door. “Dinner time.”
    tab “Ok,” I answered. “I’ll be right there.”

    tab Friday, Derik, Haley, and I realized that the store wasn’t open yet, probably because a sign on the door stated “Opens Tuesday!” So then we decided to eat at In-N-Out instead.
    tab “Sorry you guys,” Derik apologized. “I thought it was open.”
    tab “It’s ok,” I replied
    tab “Besides,” Haley added. “I haven’t eaten here in such a long time.”
    tab “And I always thought In-N-Out’s shakes were the best.” I laughed.
    tab Derik took a sip out of his vanilla milkshake. “Agreed,” he responded.
    tab After we ate, we walked around the mall. Derik bought a few things for his mother, while Haley and I bought almost the whole mall! A few times, without even noticing, Derik and I held hands, but only for a few seconds. And those few seconds were breathtaking.
    tab That evening, Derik drove Haley and I home. He first dropped off Haley at her house.
    tab “Thanks Derik.” Then Haley leaned over to my ear wand whispered, “Get him in your trap.”
    tab A few minutes later, Derik dropped me off at my house, this time escorting me to my door.
    tab “Thanks for the In-N-Out,” I uttered. “It was...er... tasty.”
    tab “But not as tasty as Jamba Juice.”
    tab We both laughed. I wish I was wearing Haley’s hoop earrings, and then it would be easier to lure Derik into my trap.
    tab I felt uncomfortable. “I got to go.” I reached for the door knob. “It’s late.”
    tab “Ya,” Derik agreed. “I’ve got a lot of homework.”
    tab “Same.”
    tab Derik turned and walked toward his car. The he turned around and waved. “See you Monday.”
    tab I waved back. “See you."

    tab On Monday, I came to school early to hang out with Haley and Derik, but I was in for a big surprise. As I was walking down the hall with Haley, I spotted this cute guy, who oddly looked familiar. His hair looked familiar, his shirt looked familiar, his smile looked familiar, his face looked… Ohmigod.
    tab Luckily, Haley saw him too. “Is that…” Haley froze.
    tab “Mm hmm,” I nodded with my eyes wide open. I dropped my books, for I couldn’t even feel my hands. “Shoot!” I muttered to myself. Hopefully he didn’t see me.
    tab He did, and he was walking this way. I tried to sneak away, but he caught up to me.
    tab He then marched right in front of me. “Tory, hi!” he smiled. “It’s me, Michael.”
    tab “Oh, I didn’t recognize you,” I lied.
    tab “Aren’t you supposed to be in New York?” Haley rolled her eyes.
    tab “Well, I couldn’t stand the way that I left you, Tory,” he edged a little closer to me. “I came back for you.”
    tab “Uh…”
    tab “I begged my parents for us to move back,” Michael continued. “And we spent all my college money, for us.”
    tab “Us?” I stared at him with one eyebrow raised.
    tab “Yes,” Michael knelt down onto his knees and held my hand. “I want you back.”
    tab By this time, a few people were staring at what was going on. This was kind of embarrassing. Then, Michael’s eyes started to fill up.
    tab “Well, I-”
    tab “Are you crying?” Haley butt in and rolled her eyes, holding her books in her other hand.
    tab “No,” Michael answered. “A dirt just flew into my eye.” He rubbed his eye for a few seconds.
    tab “I’m sorry Michael,” I continued. “I just feel-”
    tab “What the heck are you doing with my girlfriend?” Derik yelled from far behind us.
    tab Michael looked puzzled, “Girlfriend?”
    tab My eyes filled up with tears, “You broke my heart. It took me a long time for me to find all the pieces and glue them back together. But I managed, and I heard from someone that there are other fish in the sea, so I threw my hook into the ocean, and reeled in someone else.” Derik stood beside me, I continued. “I moved on, Michael, and you should too.”
    tab Michael slowly stood up, and released my hand. He shouted angrily, “Well, if you never loved me-”
    tab “No Michael,” I interrupted. “You never loved me. Because if you did, you would have never left me.”
    tab Michael stomped away, without saying another word
    tab “Who was that guy?” Derik asked.
    tab “No one,” I replied. “No one important.
