- I looked over the burning building that was once my home. The flames flickered and tortured me. My gaze fell to the greenhouse in the garden. The secret greenhouse in which my father had spent so much of his life. Without warning, my feet began walking of their own accord towards the shattered mess. The glass shone and glittered in the eerie glow of the moonlight. Something wasn’t right, my house was on fire behind me but the flames didn’t reflect in the glass. I caught sight of my own eyes in one single shard. They glowed ember then dulled down back to their usual dark violet. The edge of the glass seemed jagged and rough but that didn’t stop me from gently touching the tip. When the dark red blood pooled on my finger tip I realised that all of this was all too real. I knew that Joan, Helena, Alexandra and Andrew would be dead. The fire started in their room. I knew that Andrew had pushed Helena away from the window so that he could escape. I knew that Alexandra had died first when she tried to pull him away and he stabbed her. I knew that Joan had stumbled and fell into the flames. I knew that Helena had thrown a knife that narrowly missed Andrew and had flown through the window and shattered the greenhouse. I knew that he had strangled her to death and then thrown her body down next to Joan. I didn’t entirely know that Andrew had died. I just wanted it so badly. Using my ‘special ability’ as mother called it; I healed the cut on my hand. Once I had gathered that my sisters were dead and my parents had died years ago, I summoned all my strength and let out a long piercing yell. I yelled a name I knew I would always hate. Andrew.
