• The Talent show of the 10th grade class of San Jose high School was nearing its end, there was only one more person to do their talent. The Jocks groaned and the nerds wheezed, it was indeed the person that they all hated, Buck that reclusive guy that everyone likes to beat on.
Everyone else in the talent show did Jokes to Prep-rallies, and Singing to dancing, since Buck was hated most of all nobody knew what to expect from him. Buck walked on stage normally, as if nobody was watching, as if he didn't care of the public opinion. he dragged behind him a grand piano on wheels.
Everyone in the crowd only groaned louder, they hated Buck and expected him to play not only music that they don't like, but for him to play horribly.
Buck sat down on a bench that was already on the stage, he played around with the keys on the piano at first, but then grew more calming in his play. Laughs emitted from the crowd as well as a concussion of "boos".
Buck continued to play, saying and expressing nothing. The crowd aroused the teachers, the head master went on the stage to ask Buck to leave, hoping to please the ferocious crowd. Buck stopped playing and simply looked at the headmaster, everyone cheered the headmaster on. Buck's eyes, the way he looked at the headmaster was so unspeakable, the head master, for some strange reason, left the stage. Upon seeing the headmaster leave the stage, the crowd hushed down in expectancy. Buck bowed his head, tears rolled down his cheeks, as he touched the keys to the piano as lightly and smoothly as the wind. Buck played a song, or was it a song?
This was a strange song, everyone in the crowd could feel the presence of it in the room, as if it were a spiritual thing. The song played on, its slow melody showed the school a story, a story about a lonesome soul, crying out into the abyss for help, for love. But he did not receive it, he only received scorn, the sad boy was alone, his parents practically ghosts and his life was practically gone. The song intensified, everyone in the room could feel the aloneness, the pain, the cries. The song put the vision into the head of everyone, the lonely soul wants to die, because the dead have more life then he. The song stopped, the dirge ended. Buck lifted his head to see that everyone had left during the song, but there was one wide eyed girl with tears flowing down her eyes. Buck looked at her with his void eyes, searching for anything that showed sympathy. He received nothing, the girl wiped her tears off and left the room as if nothing happened. Buck stared at the closed doors for what seemed to be an eternity. Alone in that little school theatre, Buck sat on a piano bench. Tears strolled down his face, his life was indeed void. Buck reached into his pocket and pulled out a revolver. He put it to his head, faced towards the heavens and yelled at the top of his lungs,
"God! You hate me! You gave me nothing! And you took even more away! Now if you even exist! show me! I put 5 rounds into this gun!" these last words where said as Buck pulled the trigger.
Buck fell to the floor sobbing, he wanted to die. And though his odds where 5-1 that he'd die, he lived. Buck gathered up himself and stood up, he put the small revolver back into his pocket. He angrily stared at the heavens. As he turned to walk away, he saw that the young girl that was crying earlier, was actually watching him from behind the stage the whole time.
