• Various metals jingled inside the pockets and bags that housed them as Everie made her way out of the airlock. There wasn't much of a particular goal in her mind at the moment. In fact, she was now merely gloating. As if she wasn't a widely known pirate already by her actions out in dead space, her life on solid land brought her attention as well. It tended to be a different sort of attention however. People knew how dangerous she could be to approach, especially the males. But even with important information being known to most of Damaskenos, it rarely seemed to detour at least one soul from casting himself out in hopes his lure was bright enough. More often then not she bit the bait, chewed it up, and returned an empty hook.

Oh she would flirt all right, but that was where she tended to stop things. Figuring out which ones had gotten lucky was no hard task. If you were to get more she would reveal more by taking off her cloak. The amount of time she spent without the article of clothing always fluctuated between encounters. It rarely lasted more than five minutes...in public at least. Unfortunately for her crew, she didn't believe in special treatment for those who helped steer her vessel, meaning none were allowed to share her bed. Even if she was drunk and asking for it. Only one time was a man foolish enough to listen. In the morning he was shot.

A smirk slowly started forming on her lips as she heard the various calls, gesture, and offers as she made her way past other ships. As she was very much one to taunt, Everie made full use of what assets she did show off. Her stride swayed her hips and made her chest lightly bounce with each step. The only surprise she found was that no one was drooling...yet. All of the attention she got while still having her face covered only fueled the ever-growing ego she had developed upon commanding the New Glint.
"Fun time..." she whispered softly before slowing her pace down a bit as she neared the end of the walkway that led into town.

It was a rather short walk to the destination she somewhat had in mind. Before she could enter the main branch of the city there was always the security check. Ocular scanners held ever pirate known to the Damaskenos census in the last ten years. Due to the amount of pirates and traders that called the old military station home, pirates were the only ones allowed to enter armed. There was the occasional fleet officer who came in with his service pistol and security would let him through. But that was part of the deal. So long as members of the EUF could still access the base, the fleet would keep its hail of firepower trained away from it. This deal was only one formed for the base itself. Once out in dead space you could be fired upon. Luckily for Everie, the chances of that were extremely thin with the craft she commanded.

Her ship, dubbed the New Glint, was originally her father’s. Under his command however it was simply called Glint. However he wasn’t as high into piracy as his daughter was, so when he passed away and left the ship in her care, several modifications went under way. In total, there was originally only four engines, making it a light class ship with hardly any power or mobility. This was of course extremely insufficient in Everie’s eyes, as she had much more planned in her head than her father did. A conversion was made not only to increase the number of engines, but their directions, placement, fuel type, engine link up, and drive speed. Even with the new six main engines and twin cluster engines that could be used in emergencies, Everie found herself still not pleased with her ships abilities. With the ever-growing power and technology of the EUF, she would have to do more to keep her father’s plane out of the scrap pile.

Standard equipment on most ships in the EUF’s armada includes a four-engine base with two auxiliary boosters for quick burst. Due to pirates and enemy fleets catching up on both their speeds and capabilities, the EUF decided to create a new idea: the PDOB. It’s design consist of a single engine with increased size and capacity driven off of plasma rods instead of the typical radon sticks. This could provide much more sufficient speeds than the auxiliary boosters they had equipped before could. Thinking their problems were solved, the EUF didn’t consider the possibility of their ideas being leaked. Fortunately for the pirates and Everie in particular, word got around quicker than the planes themselves could reach Damaskenos. The only luck EUF had on their side was that no actual data plans were taken from the archives, leaving the concept to be tested out in trial and error procedures by those who felt they were up to the risk.

Not expecting the pirates to ever unlock the secrets of the PDOB, the EUF merely laughed in their faces as mechanics and engineers toiled day and night as they tried to replicate the item. Ironically, the project was completed, and quicker than the EUF had managed to as well, by a man named Lloyd Cailo. He was hailed a genius by the residents of Damaskenos, then quickly rendered a target for plundering. Many were employed to keep his invention safe and as compensation, one of his models would be installed in your craft. The job sounded like easy to work to Everie while being highly intoxicated. Come morning her ship was on the move to Cailo’s hangar where he stored the engines. Despite her ship’s small appearance, Everie arrived with the company of her twenty crew mates, all suited up and armed in attempt to defend Cailo. The defense job was seen as suicide to every other pirate as they knew well all the others would be after it, making it a highly out numbered fight. But Everie’s crew was no push over.

Each member had their own environment suit which kept them safe not only out in the cold reaches of space, but in the super hot conditions that arose when approaching a star to slingshot off it’s gravity pull. The protective plates that were connected to the fabric were molded to fit each individual’s body, giving them all as little restrictions on mobility as possible. High-density oxygen tanks that would disperse air out in burst as needed were connected to the black and red helmets that kept each pirate's head protected and filled with real time data. Each suit was connected to the others via infrared communication lines to help keep everyone on the same page regardless of their location during a battle. Beneath the oxygen tanks were tiny fuel cells to power the four thrusters that could be used in virtually any environment the pirates saw fit.

For actual combat purposes each pirate held a FA-17, a standard issue assault rifle, courtesy of the EUF. Whenever the latest models or even prototypes were being tested somewhere the team suited up and sought to capture them. The rifle looked very much like an oversized machine pistol with a top mounted scope, bull pup style clip, and an experimental energy cell powered beam, attached like a grenade launcher that could cut through armored vehicles. Aside from the FA-17, two rail guns served as long-range support for Everie’s crew. Seeing as the battle would be indoors in a rather confined space, neither of the two members that usually wielded the impressive rifles were armed with them.
