• ~*~Midnight Masquerade~*~
    Pt. 3

"Faye?" I could hear his voice drifting up from the ground. I step lightly from my bed and onto the cold hardwood floor. The moon shines in bright through my large window. I pull aside the rest of the velvet red curtain and peer down into the courtyard garden beneath my window. My breath gets caught in my throat as I see Tyler looking up at me, a bright smile lighting up his face and eyes. I smile down at him and hold up my finger, asking for a minute. I rush away from the window and grab my cloak from its hook.

The night air is cold as a small breeze whips against the fence running the length of the castle with assorted vines growing along it. My small feet fit perfectly in the thatched white wood as I descended to see my love. My light blue dress flew to the side as the wind picked up in intensity and I clung to the vines furiously.

"Don't look down." Tyler warned, his green eyes looking up at me in the night. I look down against his warning and regret it right away. My vision blurs and my mind goes all fuzzy. "Faye?" I hear Tyler ask, concern thick in his voice. I can feel my body sway precariously against the wind and my fingers lose grip on the vines. Before I know what's happening a shrill scream escapes my mouth and I'm falling to the ground. I close my eyes tight, expecting to feel the bone breaking impact of hard mother earth, but instead I feel the warmth of someones arms beneath me, holding me to their chest.

"I told you not to look down." my hero says. His green eyes search my face and then flit down to my lips. I smile up at him and slide my hand gently across his cheek. The sparks light up, sending me head over heals in a torrent of butterflies.

"I never was that good at listening to orders." I say teasingly and slip from his grip around me. I reach for his hand and we run from the castle, my curtains billowing out my window like a beacon, warning everyone that the princess as yet again escaped.

The garden we are now running through is a maze of hedges and flower beds. We both laugh as we get lost and collide with my mother's bed of tulips. I kneel down and pick up the broken flowers only to have Tyler pick me back up and swing me around. I giggle with pleasure as we both fall down into the lush grass. I move closer and lay my head on his chest, listening to his heart beat. It's so surreal that it's hard to believe, his heart pounding in his chest is the only thing keeping me here. I feel his hand drawing designs on my back and I peer up at him. A lock of my fiery red hair falls across my face and he brushes it away with his rough hands that are the softest ever to me.

"You're so beautiful." His breath falls upon my face and sends my heart racing. A smile tugs at my lips as a blush slowly creeps up to my cheeks. My head raises as he takes in a breath and looks up at the sky. I snuggled in closer to him and get a large whiff of his sent. He always smells like jewel polish and hard work, a sent that sends me wild.

"Why thank you kind sir." I say softly, raising myself up on one elbow. My hair falls down over both of our faces and he lifts himself up to. We come face to face, our almost matching emerald green eyes stare into each others depths. 'Is this love?' I question myself.

My heart races fast in my chest as Tyler races his hand and places it gently under my chin. I smile up at him, my eyes pouring out all my feelings, his own mirroring mine. I open my mouth to say that words that most want to be said, but he silences me with his lips. My heart flutters and my stomach goes up in butterflies, all warm and fuzzy. My hands wrap around his neck, pulling me closer. His hand rests at my lower back, pressing me up against him. His lips are warm and moist on my own.

Tyler pulls back and holds my face in his hands. His light blond hair is a mess atop his head, it brings a smile to my face. His eyes gleam and dance excitedly as his lips form the words waiting to jump from my tongue.

"I love you." he breaths out, his thumb rubbing against my cheek ever so slightly. Even that small movement, that small touch makes me crazy. My heart reaches out for him and my eyes fill up with crystal clear tears. "What wrong?" he quickly asks.

"Nothing's wrong Tyler." I say, raising my hand and placing it on his cheek. I can feel the slight stubble of hair. "Everything's perfect." I take his hands from my face and wrap them around myself, laying down beside him beneath lady moon. "I love you too." I whisper against his ear. He looks down at me through the corner of his eyes a smile bringing up his perfect lips.

I wake from my reverie again as Rosalie starts to place hairpins in my fiery red hair. She smiles down at me as my heart is heavy once more. My hands yearn to touch Tyler, my lips beg to be kissed once more, and my heart beats for his and his alone.
