• CHAPTER -1-

I stood on my balcony, resting my crossed arms on the railings. As the air blew my silk hair over my face, I could smell a mix of flavours. Blood and lavender. I smelt the air again, and then I realised that it came from the forest about 10 minutes away. But, because I was a vampire, it only took me 5 seconds, or so. I jumped up and landed, then sped through the forset. I stopped abruptly at the edge. My eyes could see all the way to the other end of the forest, where I could see blood, and an angel crying in pain. I sped through the foggy forest, and then stopped again at the feet of a dead body. I stared at it. Should I poison this body into a vampire, like me? Or should I leave, leave the angel crying in sorrow? I bent down, looked at the angels face, and realised that it's right wing was nearly feather less, and its hands covered in blood. Had this creature killed this innocent human? Then I suddenly realised that I was licking my lips, and my saliva, mixed with venom, started pooling rapidly in my mouth. I hadn't hunted for 3 weeks, and I was hungry. I quickly stopped thinking about that, and looked at the angels face again.
"Why is you heart crying, dear angel?" I asked in my soft, but rough voice. The creature faced me for a moment, but this time, it was smiling.
"Arlana, why is your heart hungry?" It asked in sarcasm. Why was it smiling? I don't think I would be happy if I killed a person. The creature then stood up, to reveal that it's robe was splattered in blood, and dressed in black and gold.
"Oh, no." I whispered to myself. This wasn't an angel, but a demon of suffering. I was scared for a minute. What, did you really think that vampires weren't scared of anything? I stood up too, as the demon flickered a little flame on his fingers with a snap.
" Oh, no." I whispered again. This little flame could kill me. Vampires can burn in flames, it's the most assuring way to kill us. The 'angel' lunged itself at me. Then suddenly , I realised that this was a male. He had black hair, and it was silver at some parts. Just like mine. He also had a bit of a baby face touch to him.
"Your not strong as I thought you were, Arlana," he smiled. He bent closer.
"H-how do you know m-my name?" I stuttered. He frowned.
"Well, I know someone's name if they are going to hell." He was still frowning but I could see a little smile forming. What did he mean, that I was going to hell? He bent closer, and then that little flame was 3 centimetres away from my face. I shivered.
"But yet, you're not fast enough!" I said that as if it was the easiest thing to work out. In seconds, I was out of his grasp. He was about to jump on me, but then, time stopped. Literally. That is my strongest ability, my vampire gift. I could stop time for 10 seconds. I sped through the forest, back to my house. I leapt up to my balcony, then opened the door. My brothers, Liam and Rick stared at me, as if I had done something illegal. Oh, yeah. I clicked my fingers, and then time started again. Then they sighed. I saw my older sisters, Tia and Kaira, just to find them staring at me in amazement. You see, I have been stuck in my 15 year old body, yet I have been immortal for 489 years. Which means I'm older than my brothers, and sisters. In immortal years. You see, my parents and I were dying from cancer. But I was saved by some vampire, which I don't know who was. But my parents were already dead by then. And so, it seemed to other people that it was a miracle. But then again, they didn't know what I was. I didn't either, for another 3 years. I knew what I was when a vampire hunter told me. I was scared, but relieved. Scared, because he was a vampire hunter. Relieved, because I was young, beautiful, yet strong, for a teen. I made the vampire hunter promise not to tell anyone, but later, I was wanted. I ran away, and found the house that we are living in now. I moderned it up. And then, years on from that, I found Liam, lying in the woods, alone. He was dying. There was a bear walking away from him when I found him. I passed on the poisonous venom when I kissed him. Yes we kissed, and yes, in the lips. He fell in love with me, I fell in love with him. We still have feelings for each other, but very little now. But I do kiss him on the cheek more than anyone, for example, when I leave for hunting. Okay, enough about my history. Where as I? Oh yes, my sisters were looking at me with amazement. I smiled at them. Then, they looked at me with confusion.
"He nearly killed you, and you're smiling?" Kaira asked. She was the more mature one from our little family.
"You're welcome." I said in sarcasm. Tia and me giggled quietly. But of course, Kaira heard us and frowned.
"What do you mean, 'You're welcome.'?"
"Oh, come on, if I didn't stop the time, you would have all been dead, right?" I looked at my brothers. They nodded at the same time. "See?" I turned to look at Kaira again. She frowned. Then, I could see her eyes turning to a dark green with anger. She growled. Yeah, she my third enemy. And now she's mad with me. She leapt up, and jumped on me. She stared at me with furious eyes.
