• The following is a report from Commander Alexander Monroe. It has been placed as a journal to record each day and describe reasons for any event that has happened.

Today was the first day on the job for my squad. We patrolled the area only to find an abandoned camp. Well , it was abandoned because everyone was dead. Judging by the marks from there bodies it is to be noted that it is possible natives had gotten to them. Most disturbing thing is how one of the killed was a man stabbed into a tree by a large wooden spear. There was words written in his blood saying "Hianatoke". I'm guessing it meant get out. Sill, while the deaths were horrifying the men who died were redcoats. No mourning for them, and we looted there camp with haste. We got as much as we could carry and then moved out.
We had twice the servings of rations and we our bellies were full of the best rations. Richard spiced up some of it with the herbs in his pouch. He wasn't bad in combat, but with his cooking he was good at boosting morale, and energy of our squad. William begged Richard for a 3rd course but we still had to conserve them, he didn't realize he was full either. Who could blame him? It was the best meal we had in weeks of this revolution and I was glad to be in this squadron. They did pretty good for there first day and we all managed to sleep well. I was however worried that the natives may confuse us with the redcoats. Even so, we have plenty of ammo and firepower to fight them off, even if they do sneak by and try to kill us as we sleep. Now it's time to go to bed and rest, we got to head over to the Fort and send back report of what we found so it's important we get our sleep.

    Day 2
Today we were ambushed. Another group of Redcoats were patrolling the area and spotted us. They had hunting dogs which caught us by surprise. One of them came at me, only to be stopped by my bayonet. Samuel wasn't so lucky, the dog caught him by surprise and manage to tear his throat. I killed the dog, but couldn't save Samuel. William and Richard were busy fighting off the redcoats themselves. I pushed down a pile of rocks towards them, crushing them on impact in a matter of seconds. A difficult battle it was, and that had lead to the death of Sam, whom we gave a proper burial. While Richard and I were burying Sam, William stacked up the bodies of the seven redcoats and two dogs on the road. I admire his patriocy, but I fear for his rationality.
It's been a tough day, even Richard's cooking couldn't mend the wound that pierced our squad when Samuel had died. We did however find a letter on his person stating "Bring this to my family if I am to die" The letter stated:
    Dear Mary,
If you receive this letter then it is possible that I am dead. Do not cry for me and instead take care of the children. I have taken the liberty of leaving my Grandfather's fortune in a cove by the shore. The cove is hidden by vegetation, so it should be safe. On the back of this letter is a map to the cove, and in the fortune should be enough to feed the family for a life time. I had received this fortune when my Grandfather had passed away. He told me to keep it safe and to only give it to a family if I was to pass away. And so if the fortune is taken, be sure to inform Mr. Holmes, as he has taken a watchful eye on the cove for a while.
    Sincerely,
    Samuel Kadinsky

I will be sure to bring this letter to Samuel's wife as soon as I am able to leave my duties in the war. William was trying to take a good glimpse at the letter as he noticed the map on the back of it. I wonder if he may be thinking of causing an act of thievery and treason. Even so, I may still need his help in this war, as for now he has proven his loyalty… But I still have my skepticism.

    Day 3
Most of us are still a bit shaken by what happened last night. After Midnight Richard had to do his "duties" by a tree. On the way back, he had seen a silhouette by where he slept. He slowly reached for his musket and shouted at it. The silhouette ran away, but Richard was still frightened by what he had seen. What if he didn't get up? Would he still be alive? Well fact is we think we're being followed, and so were keeping our guns close and our ammo closer. We are getting closer to the Fort. With any luck we should reach it in two or three more days. Until then, I have to keep the rest of my squad safe. Keep an eye on William, and make sure Richard is safe. William was also awake when Richard made his discovery. He claims that he also seen the silhouette and identified it as one of the natives. We double timed it out of there, hopefully we managed to get away from whatever tried to get to Richard.

    Day 4
We were ambushed. On our way to the fort we passed by a camp we didn't even know was there. IT was a british stronghold, we didn't have much of a chance so we had to scatter and split up. I was shot in the sholder, and right now it will stings. William saved my life by taking out a redcoat that was charging at me with a rapier. There was no way I could fight him off, the musket wound caused me to fall and trip over a log. William took out the rapier wielding redcoat with his bayonet, struck right in the back. Afterwards he ran off, continuing the scatter and retreat plan. They both realize we are too regroup at the Fort. And I picked up my musket and ran off too. I should be able to reach the fortress by tomorrow. Hopefully, I will be able to also find Richard and William there as well. Until then, I shall keep my guard up.

    Day 5
I finally made it to the Fort. I found William there as well. I had a long discussion with him about what had happened. Richard wasn't there unfortunately and he was the one who knew all the directions around the area. I did however find it strange that William had a musket shot wound on his arm. "Oh, I was shot after we were ambushed" he said. I didn't remember any of the redcoats firing and actually hitting him. I guess it must've been while he was making his retreat. The Fort had a lot of supplies to use. And the soldiers managing the fort were also kind with the welcoming. They even sent out a scout to go find Richard. After describing what he looked like the scout left in a matter of minutes. And after that I decided to kick back and rest. Figured it was the best I could do to help my wounds heal. It was certainly relaxing to know the safety of being in a place such as this. Still, I was worried about Richard, and curious about William. But the one thing I was wondering the most about was who that guy in the silhouette was. It couldn't possibly be a redcoat, seeing as how we had done a number on them. Plus there would have been more. Well for now I will have to wait tomorrow to see the result of what had happened. Today's dinner was some deer meat. It was good, yet nothing like Richard's cooking. Although it was satisfying none the less. For now I shall help with the duties in the Fort, and with any luck I may be able to lead an attack force on all the British camps in the area.
