The Second Dream.
"Why did you do it?" Zero practically hollered at Yuuki. "I specifically told you not to! You dare defy my orders?" His eyes were flaming with fury.
"Just a taste..." Yuuki murmured. "She won't notice it at all. She'll think it no more than a misquito bite."
"Have I not told you? This girl is extremely perceptive. We cannot risk our secrecy by underestimating her." Zero sighed. "I guess I can't blame you. Her mind is very alluring, ever since I became one of us I've wanted a taste. What was it like?" His mood changed, got softer, and he almost seemed like he wanted to taste my mind or something.
"It's unlike any other taste..." Yuuki told him. Her voice sounded like she was in a dream. "You'd have to try it for yourself."
"Describe it for me, I don't want to taste," Zero said.
"Well, it's a whole new kind of sweet. Delicious, and unlike any other taste in the world. Almost as good as Lindt chocolate truffles, only with that twinge of salt you love," Yuuki taunted.
I wanted to talk to them, ask them what they were talking about, ask them all of the questions I had racing through my mind at the moment. I actually tried to comminicate with the figures--I do that in many of my dreams-- and they seemed to hesitate, for just a moment. Was I actually getting through? Not possible.
"I'm going to transform Megan this weekend," Zero said casually. "And this is our new meeting place. Notify Lucifer."
"Why her mind?" Yuuki complained.
"You know the reason, Yuuki," Zero replied coldly. "It's the only safe commonground. The vampire meeting place is obviously out--to many enemy covens hunting for us. I suppose we could do it in Cyn or Susan's minds, but that wouldn't go as smoothly. Someone able to make their own conclusions about us, that is figuring it out on their own, in their own mind... not only is it the safest place for us to meet, I'm intrigued by her."
"Intrigued? What will Megan think?"
"Not like that! It's a different attraction. Her mind is so...uncommonly strong. It's twice-logic."
"You're overestimating her. Next you're going to think she's found out a way to communicate with us."
"She's trying to think of a way right now," Zero said dryly.
Yuuki looked towards the east, where my window would be in my bedroom, except there was no setting to this dream, only a sort of purple mist. "We'd better go," she said. "Dawn is breaking."
"Wait!" I tried to call, but all too quickly they disappeared.
