Chapter 9
tab "They de--they are dead," Adam says as we walk on out of the bathroom. It actually looks difficult for him to speak in complete sentences. I might actually feel sorry for him...if not for the fact that he nearly killed both Mr. Jacobs and I. I glance over to the counter, and am duly surprised to see that Daniel...is not smiling. What a turn of events. In fact, on the contrary, he has this serious look on his face like the world's going to end tomorrow or something.
tab "Good," he replies, all business. "Now--"
tab "Yes, drag outside. Yes." Daniel doesn't say anything to this, but looks blankly at the ceiling. Adam walks over to the door and unlocks it. All three of us waltz out (I guess it's safe to assume that Mr. Jacobs and I were both invisible. Oh, and yeah, I guess I didn't waltz. I rolled. Gonna have to get used to referring to stuff like that.) and are welcomed by the freedom of fresh air, away from the near death trap of Burger King. Was this the way this whoe mission will play out? Are we going to go on every minute of the way, praying and holding on to our lives with a tight grasp of a small thread? I shudder and think back to when things were normal. When I was the super star of a track team. When I could actally look forwad to a new day, instead of dreading the next moment. Is it right for me to be here? Was I just being selfish when I wanted to come? I'm not really doing a great job of helping Mr. Jacobs by any means with his noble mission. I sigh, ad stuff those thoughts to the side. Concentrate. It's too late now. Can't go back.
tab Mr. Jacobs and I follow close to Adam, who looks utterly stupid, ridiculous, and any other slur of synonyms you can find as he drags onto the non-existant two dead bodies of Mr. Jacobs and I. It's kind of unsettling...and yet pretty hilarious. I probably would laugh, if the circumstances were lighter. Which they weren't.
tab After walking (me rolling, again) a couple yards away from the resuraunt into a back end corner, we stop. Mr. Jacobs and I become visible and take off our IME, and I see him is still pointing the gun at Adam. Quite threatening.
tab "Favor done," Adam lets out, looking at the gun with tenacious eyes.
tab "I know," Mr. Jacobs replies. "Just didn't want you to throw anymore tricks at me. Now, go back." Adam muttrs something under his breath, then starts walking back.
tab After he gets back inside, I look to Mr. Jacobs and say,
tab "You gonna explain me what the heck just happened." Mr. Jacobs swallows, and replies,
tab "Those were--those were the Fallen Angels. They must've plannd ahead."
tab "They must've really far ahead to become empoyees at Burger King before we came. How'd they even do that?"
tab "Here's a fairly acurate prediction. They came here when we did, watched us, then when to the past and became Burger King employees."
tab "How'd they know we came here, anyway?" Mr. Jacobs swallows hard, looks away, and says,
tab "That...that I do not--do not know." Nothing is said for the next couple seconds. Finally I break the silence as I say,
tab "We didn't eat. Does that mean you won't tell me anything about this Time Jumping crap?" Mr. Jacobs' head snaps to my direction, giving me a jolt.
tab "Time Jumping is not crap. And...yes. I'm going to tell you. But we do need to fill our stomachs. And now that Daniel thinks we're dead, it will be much easier to maneuver."
tab "How do you know Daniel?"
tab "I would rather not talk about..." He pauses, and says, while glancing at his watch,
tab "We have to go."
tab "What's with the sudden rush? You in the mood for dodging questions?" I snap. Mr. Jacobs gives me a sly smile, and replies,
tab "Catching on, eh? But, that's not the only reason. We really do need to go."
tab "Where? For what?"
tab "The mission. We can't stall forever."
tab "What is the mission, anyway?" Mr. Jacobs doesn't reply, but only looks at the ground as a grim response.
tab "The mission?" I repeat. Mr. Jacobs doesn't take his gaze off the ground, but replies,
tab "A girl...a girl shoots herself." Wow. Not the kind of thing you hear every day.
tab "So basically, we're saving this girl from herself."
tab "If we have to," Mr. Jacobs replies, looking back down at me. "But our first resort is to stop the person who is causing this emotion in her. That's why we came here one week early."
tab "And this person would be..."
tab "A boy," Mr. Jacobs answers quickly. "The same age as her."
tab "What is he, her ex?" Mr. Jacobs lets out a nervous laugh, and says,
tab "If only. No, this boy was abusing her...but not in a physical kind of way." He glances back at his watch, and says,
tab "It's almost 2:00. I need to get to...this girl's school before 3:00."
tab "Why? What happens then?"
tab "I'll show you. Now, let's get going." Get going? Get going for what? I still didn't have a very good idea of what was going on as I laid in our corvette. So many secrets being held. So much cosmo stuff. What are we in, some sci-fi story?
tab It sure seems like it.

- Title: Time Jumper Ch. 9
- Artist: BeaniesFTW
- Description: AN UPDATE! No, I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth. I still exist. As I said before, if I haven't updated in a week, then I'm either grounded, dead, or on vacation. And just another reminder, I'm going to China tomorrow, so don't expect many updates at all until July 18th. While I'm in China, I'll take my handy-dandy...notebook, and try to keep my stories up and going, though I probably won't update until I come back.
