Knock knock.
I always said that those two words would be the last things I'd ever say. I imagined the scene of my death just like this;
I'm dying of something-or-other, with a loved one standing over me. I grin and say 'Knock knock' They ask 'who's there?' I don't respond.
Hilarious.
But now that I really am dying, with no loved ones to speak of, I'm narrating what I can.
Starting with Knock Knock, of course.
My name is Rose Cooper. The name doesn't really fit me. I'm not a very rose-like person. Rather than rosy skin and hazel eyes, I have pure white skin. White hair, too. My eyes, not that they work anymore, are blue. That means I'm not a full albino, because my eyes are producing at least some melanin. Technically, I should have an olive complexion. But I don't.
Enough about how I look like. I want to talk about life, now.
Life is stupid. Yeah, I know you're thinking 'Well, you're DYING, of course you're going to think life is stupid!' So I'll give you a logical reason why it is.
There is no point to life. We aren't alive for god's will, or some s**t like that. We aren't alive so we can persue knowledge, or something equally pointless. Some might say that we're here to further the human race, through evolution. I say that's s**t too. If we evolve far enough, we're still going to be completely pointless. We evolve so we can evolve some more. Until we go extinct.
I view the life of a single person the same way. A child is born. Let's call him Example. He learns to walk and talk, how to crap and how to behave, so that he can go to school. For years he goes to school, learning enough to get by with some fast-food job. Then he gets the job. Once he has the job, he works. He works to get money. He gets money so he can eat. He eats so he can live.
What, then, is the single driving force in this man's life? Work, of course! He works, because it is the only way he can live. And he lives so he can work. A simple circle.
Chaos, in other words. Can you imagine Example's body rushing about, the individual cells constantly in motion? Neurons firing every second of every day, stomach acids dissolving food, muscles tightening. All this chaos, energy being burned, time used up, and all for nothing.
Example is going to die someday. And when that happens, the circle is over.
Lucky for him, though, he found some girl and she popped out a few bastards before he died. There; Some more children to follow their father's pathetic footsteps. Now his useless life was supposedly worth something? No. His children are going to do the same thing he did. Not the same dead-end job, maybe, and they may go to college, but they're still going to die someday.
Now you argue that there is a point to life. What about the things they do before they die? What if they found a new race of dung beetles?
Of course I respond; What the hell does dung beetles have to do with anything? They're useless too. In fact, all life is useless. Now that I think about it, I realise that not only life, but planets and stars are useless. They're only dirt, only gas, and only bits of metal. They're dead.
And yet planets are majestic, dead material in dead space. Death is the natural status of all things in the universe.
But then why am I so scared of dying?
