• Chapter 2.

I step into the door. I look at the laboratory… The goddess’s prison. I glare at a scientist.

“Let her go.” I say. He turns around, and sees me. In my human form, I have black hair, like I do when I’m a wolf, and cyan eyes, but me as a wolf, I have sapphire blue eyes. The scientist blinks twice.

“Let the woman out of that container. Let her go.” I say again.

“How did you get in here anyway?” The Scientist asks me. I glare harder. I feel myself growling. I slowly walk up to the scientist. My eyes are burning with hatred and the scientist freezes in his spot.

“Unlock. Her. Cage.” I say. The scientist just stares at me, gaping. Then he suddenly falls onto the ground. I spin around, and there is a man. His face is hidden by a mask, but I bet you that his face makes humans fall asleep.

“Step aside boy.” The man says. Unwillingly, I shift into a wolf and lunge. My black fur is easy to see in this room, but I don’t care. I land on top of the man, and I start to snap at him. He is holding my muzzle, so I can’t get a clean shot on him. I hear a gun crack, and my lung starts to hurt, badly. I fall on my side, and try to get up with little success. I lay there. Bleeding to death, not the funest way to die. I begin to pant. I close my eyes.

I’m not sure how long I was out, but when I become conscious enough I feel a hand stroking my back. I am too weak to snap at it, so I give up. I open my eyes and there is the goddess, looming over me. The man who wanted to kidnap her (or I think he wanted to) was there too. The man’s mask was off, and he looked concerned.

“My…lung…” I weakly bark. The goddess looks at the man. She says something, and turns back to me. I am losing consciousness again. I try to hold on. Each time I inhale pain shoots up my side. I feel hands lift me up off of the ground. I know it is the goddess, so I somewhat adjust in her arms, making my side a little more comfortable. I feel a sharp pain and give a little yelp, and then I black out.

I wake up in a dog crate. I try to stand, but I fail. I stare at someone in a white coat. She opens my cage and reaches for me. I am still too weak to resist, but I give an annoyed growl. Who were these people? Why was I here? I don’t know, but I see the goddess fallowing them, so I guess I should behave. The woman in the white coat puts me on a cold silver table. I tense. She pulls out strange red liquid and attaches a tube to the bag holding the red substance. She attaches a needle to the end of the tube, and the needle goes into my leg. I yelp, and then calm down. I feel…stronger. The red substance is blood. My blood. I look gratefully at the woman in the white coat. She stares back and gasps. She takes a hair, and puts it under what I think is a microscope. She wirily stands, and comes over to me. She turns to the goddess.

“Did you know this creature is a wolf?” She asks, in shock.

“Why yes. I know they are all almost extinct, but there are three other wolves that are like him. This one can hide in a human form, and then shift into a wolf whenever it’s necessary. I am the goddess of the wolves. This one is…very old. I chose him over 200 years ago to be a human/wolf. He is. And he will protect me, no matter what the cost.” The goddess told her. The bag O’ blood ran out. I gave a gentle but attention grabbing growl. The woman in the white coat took out the needle, and I shifted into a human while she had her back turned. When she turned around, I was sitting there.

“Where did the wolf go?” she asked me.

“Right here. I am the wolf” I say. The woman blinks, and then lets me and the goddess leave. I grab the goddess’s wrist and run out of the city, away from the laboratory, to my friends.

Who were waiting for my return.
