Monica’s pace quickened as she heard twigs snap close behind her. Adrenaline pushed her on. Her heavy, moist breath clouded that chilly air before her. Her legs ached from running for so long. She felt like she weighed thousands of pounds, as she forced ever agonizing step forward to protect herself. Finally she let gravity take its course. She collapsed. She gasped for air. She reached out trying to move on, but her arms fell.
Monica’s eye lids slowly closed. She heard foot steps behind her. She let the darkness overwhelm her. A man picked that cold body up and smiled. He walked to a questionable, dark cave. As he walked in a group of boy’s with blood stained shirts rushed over to the man and said in unison, “Father! Father! What did you bring us, Father?!” A woman came out and rushed over, “Eric! I missed you so...” Eric smiled as he placed Monica down on a table. He barred his fangs and slowly started to pierce through the epidermis of the young girls’ neck. As his fangs reached the blood vessel, he drank until he was full.
Eric licked his lips, satisfied. He wrapped his arms around his girls neck and kissed her lovingly. He sat on a stone chair next to the table and watched the children play with the dead white body. He chuckled. He placed his hand on his cheek and rested his head. He was tired; he had a long day in the forest.
Monica stirred; she was having a horrific dream. She was imagining herself re-watching her younger brother’s death. There was blood everywhere, her brother was on the floor, cold and still. She hunched over the body and sobbed. Monica shot up. Her eyes wide open. She remembered she was scared. She didn’t know what to do or say. She looked around the dimly lighted cave. She saw glowing red eyes stare at her. She sat up and pain shot up her spine. She feels back down again and screamed in pain, but she knew that she had to get out and quick. She got up again and ignored that pain. She hesitantly stepped down and started to walk, each step was agonizing.
Monica started to run, even though the pain was almost unbearable, but she kept on going. She gasped for air with every step.
