• It was a silent night. The kind of a night where you could fall asleep in just a couple of minutes. Yet, no matter how hard he tried, Brian could not get to sleep. He tossed and turned, just wanting for the sun to rise and the next day to come. His dark brown hair had become a mess. But that didn't matter at the moment. All that mattered was escaping reality for at least a fleeting moment to be lost in the world of dreams.

He turned in his bed, and when he did so, a blinding light shone from the direction of his window. He shielded his eyes, for the light was so bright that he thought looking directly into the sun would probably less dangerous than looking at the light.
Slowly, the light faded away. Brian looked out the window of his house to see where it had come from. Nothing was there but a mass of black emptiness.
