• Chapter One
    Lars

Lars was lying on his couch in his living room. The coffee table had a couple of romance novels, and a cold cup of coffee on it. The wool blanket only covered his lower body. He had the remote control to the television in the nook of his elbow as he slept.
The living room door to the apartment opened then closed.
"Lars, what the ******** are you doing? Aren't you supposed to be at work?" Shrieked a females high pitched voice.
Lars bolted upright and turned his head around to see who was standing in front of the apartment's closed door. His girlfriend Zoe was the one standing in front of the door with her blonde hair pulled up in a twist and her green eyes were wide in annoyance.
"Oh s**t baby. no need to freak out on me. Someone called in and they needed to work the day shift so my boss called me and I'm doing the evening shift tonight." Lars explained, rubbing his chocolate brown eyes. "I don't start until five." He stood up and walked over to Zoe. He was wearing only his jeans and Zoe could see all his muscles on his upper body.
Zoe walks into Lars' open arms and he holds her closely and then leads her to the couch he was laying on.
As she sat down she kicked off her high heels under the coffee table. "Can you please turn on the lights baby? It's one in the afternoon and it looks like it's midnight." Zoe asked relaxing onto the plush cushions.
Lars smiles as he turns on the light then takes the cup of coffee into the open kitchen. "I' see you're not annoyed anymore."
    "What makes you say that?:
"You called me baby," Lars replied showing a giant smile. Zoe was mesmerized by his smile every time he did, no matter how mad she was at him.
He sat down next to her and put his arm around her. She snuggled closed as he kissed her forehead.
"I'm sorry i bit your head off." She apologizes.
    "It's alright." Lars responds.
"My weakness is that i can never stay annoyed or be mad at you for more than a few seconds or minutes. It's completely impossible." Zoe said as she played with his black hair.
"And I hate disappointing you, and upsetting you,"
Zoe crawled into Lars' lap and he put his arms her tiny waist as he kissed her soft, watermelon flavored lips.
Zoe's hair smelled like a mixture of fabric and flowers. The flowers, and fabric smell was from the fashion designer's studio she worked at as a summer internship.
When they pulled apart Zoe broke into a wide grin and gave out a girlish giggle.
"I love your smile." Lars pointed out smiling back. "your smile makes me smile."
"I love you and your smile. I love everyhting about you!" Zoe proclaimed.
    "I love you too,"
"I know, that's why I moved in with you the day after graduation last month. Now that we're starting college in September I thought I'd move to Chicago with you in your amazing apartment to be closer to school and you! And to get away from my family." Zoe explained.
"I'm glad you did. Since we have two whole month before school starts we can hang out a lot more. Around work, and your internship it's still more time then we will when school starts i bet." Lars replied.
"I'm glad too. You saved me the day i met you. You saved me from a lot of things."
