• Hatter leaned closer. Heather smiled, until the sharp pain flowed through her body. She had been stabbed by the Hatter. He kept the knife in her stomach until she fell down dead. He kicked her body into the river. That's when she woke up. The Hatter lingered over her. "Are you alright?" he asked. It had been a dream. "The knight who pulled you into the water nearly got you killed. I went in after you." he continued. Though it had been a dream, the rabbit was dead. Heather got up. She was a bit dazed, but otherwise fine. "What do we do now?" Heather asked. The Hatter just looked at her. "We go to the castle." he finally said. "Whoa whoa whoa. The castle? Do you want us to get killed by that sorry excuse for a king?" Heather shouted. "Shhh keep your voice down. He has spies everywhere." the Hatter told her as he covered her mouth. He was right. Unfortunately, she found out the hard way. Now there were more knights. "Oh come on. Really?" Heather shouted. It didn't seem to matter if she shouted now as they were doomed to be captured anyway.

"Bring in the traitors." the Black King said. Two knights dragged in the duo. Heather was fearless on the outside, but her fear was bottled up inside. "Hatter Hatter Hatter. How disappointing. I assign you to capture the girl and get caught yourself. Oops, maybe I shouldn't have said that." the Black King boomed. "You were assigned to catch me?" Heather said, her voice was quiet and filled with the feeling of being betrayed. A tear rolled down her cheek. The knights let Hatter go and he walked out of the room. "Now as for you. You shall not be sent home, more like, forced to stay here and be my queen." The words stuck in Heather's head.

Hatter stormed through the door to his quarters. There, the cat stood on his bed and stared at him. "You gave up the girl?" he said. "Yes, it was the only way to survive." the Hatter told him. "Well did you know that she will be his queen?" the cat asked. The Hatter did not believe his ears. Had he heard correctly? "What have I done?" he asked himself.
