Starting Summer
We have finished year nine at school, summer holidays will begin, and I have a big summer ahead. Layley and her family have invited me to their summer holiday house, we’re spending a two months in Sydney, New South Wales. Jamie her brother is coming to with his friend Oliver, I like her brother, and Layley knows, she doesn’t really care because she is glad someone likes him and knows him well, unlike the girls at school, her brother will be in year eleven next year so not that much age difference. Layley is the best friend anyone would want to have, she’s not judgemental, she never teases anyone’s style unless it’s a joke, she’s just a great person to be around. Jamie knows me pretty much inside out, I’ve grown up with Layley’s whole family since as long as we started kindergarten, Jamie has earlobe length hair, dark brown, green eyes and an emo style fringe, any girl could fall in love with him. Layley has beach blonde hair, chest length, emerald green eyes and an emo style shape, she loves to spike the bob part with hairspray.
Oliver I don’t know that well, he’s pretty quiet but he’s very handsome too. He’s got light auburn hair, piercing bright blue eyes, styled the same as Jamie and his body is very muscular, including a six pack. Jamie has the same body too, they’re both the two hottest guys in Calwell High School, I don’t know why they’re single. As we arrive in Sydney the buildings over tower pretty much everything, I see the Opera House from a distance, also the Harbour Bridge.
Layley is the first to speak, “See Delilah how cool is Sydney?”
I’m astonished, “Wow, it’s so huge.”
Jamie turns around from the middle section of the car, “And loud too.”
I grin, “Yeah, but it’s still really cool.”
Layley grins, “Of course.”
It doesn’t take much longer to reach the beach house, it’s creamy white and double story, it looks beautiful, “Wow...I didn’t know you’re beach house was this cool!”
Layley smiles, “If you think this is cool, wait until you see the others in Sydney, this is nothing!”
We laugh, as we enter the house smells of vanilla, the stair case is spiral and the house feels so light, Layley laughs at my astonished face. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this, it beats Canberra any day. I wheel my suitcase up the stairs, Layley leads me to my room, the guest room which has its own master suite. This is going to be one summer I’ll never forget.
