• "What should I do?" Emica Asked herself.

tab She was sitting high atop a sky scraper, letting her feet dangle over the edge of the building. She'd been quite busy. She went and checked to see her husband at work as he got the news of her car crash, that had been sort of sad for her to watch as he dashed off to the hospital looking tired and dreadfully saddened.

She had also been to see her friends, Gladdus and Emily, who hadn't heard the news just yet. It was fun for her to waltz about snooping into others lives when they had no idea she was even doing it.But now she grew bored. She'd been to all the places she'd usually go, all the places she knew. What else was there to do? "Being in a coma is quite dull." she remarked. Then she saw it. One of her trippy dream visions had appeared before her. It was The Girl with long brown hair and a long blue trench coat.

"Hey! Uhm, I-I don't have to go back, do I?" Emica inquired. The girl just looked away from her and stood beside Emica with a far off, sad look on her face.

"Hello?" No reply. The girl simply looked out onto the world. As Emica looked at the girl she almost thought she looked familiar. The girl, probably feeling Emica's stare looked back at her. Her hazel eyes digging through Emica's soul.

"Hey, do I know-- !" Emica whimpered as her back fell and hit something hard and cold as stone. The brown haired girl reached out a hand to Emica with a smile, but her eyes remained pain strickenly sad and depressed. Emica got up with her help and looked around to see her surroundings had changed. She was floating above a field of flowers. The hard rocky thing she had fallen on turned out to be a rock with something carved in it.

    'Long Live Rosco!'

At the reading of the words aloud, Emica had a rush of memories collide with her.

    She remembered.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Crying over the rock as a familiar looking boy carved the letters into it. There were people huddled beside her, all sorts of people, but her memory did not allow their faces to be clear. In her hands, Emica held a pot filled with ashes. The people beside her stood close to her for support if she needed it. Emica began to scatter the ashes about the empty field of grass...
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Rosco...I-I remember, my old dog, right..? Wow. . . That seems so long ago. . .

Emica stopped hovering and knelt down to the rock, she pulled a hand full of wild flowers and put them on the rock. Then... She was tackled!

A dog had jumped up through the earth and tackled her! "Rosco?!" The dog barked and Emica laughed with joy. "Rosco! You remember me? Do ya?" Rosco barked once again and sat with his tail wagging happily behind him. It took a while for Emica to notice, but, Rosco was hovering, just as she could. He was also a faint green color, just as she was!

    "Oh... Rosco..."

The Brunette girl came up and patted Rosco on the head, then looked up at Emica with a smile. "Thank you, for bringing me here... I can't believe I forgot about him!" The girl nodded and began to walk towards Emica. She put a hand over her eyes and before Emica could ask what she was doing, the girl was just gone. And the setting had changed, once again.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

With Rosco at her side, Emica began exploring the new setting, looking for anything that would set off another memory. She was inside an apartment. The place was pretty clean and neat but there was a pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. Rosco himself was investigating a rather grand bookshelf. Books with filed by the dozen! Sniffing at one of the many books, Rosco began pawing at it to make it fall. To Emica's amazement, it did. This was a shock, for no matter the effort, Emica could not interact with objects and much less people. The book that fell was black. Scribbled in silver letters was the word 'Journal'.

Rosco began using his nose to open it and look through the pages. Emica's heart skipped. Another memory flashed upon her.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emica sat on her bed scribbling words into the journal earnestly. When she was done, she got up and got the box she had been saving for this. Carefully packing the journal in, Emica sealing it up and addressed it to a 'Miss Shelby-Lynn Hubbard'.

Excitedly, she ran back to her bed and found her phone hiding in the blanket. Her thumbs moved quickly as she texted away.

"I just packed up the journal!!! I'm sending it soon!!" It said before the 'Message Sent' screen flashed on.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huh... I remember that. . . We kept sending these back and forth for quite a while, didn't we? I wonder when we ever stopped...

Suddenly, the door to the apartment clicked as someone was unlocking it. In came a brunette woman with olive toned skin. She was styling a uniform of some sort used by pilots Emica remembered seeing at the airport.

"Home at last. . ." Sighed the woman as she kicked off her shoes and headed straight for the couch.

    "Shelby."

"That's Shelby!!" Emica said. It was a brain blast, she suddenly remembered this girl, who was the same as the one in her dream vision with the blue trench coat. She had been friends with her all throughout middle school and even beyond high school for some time. But the two had lost contact a long while back... Before Emica even got married.

Rosco nudged the book on the floor with his nose, moving it. Upon hearing the noise, the woman turned. On edge, her eyes scanned the apartment room, falling to the journal lying on the floor. She quickly put it back in it's place but not before she took one long wistful glance at it and thumbed through some of the pages. Instead of moving back to the couch she headed for thhe desk in the corner of the room, she turned on the lamp. There was a book lying open with a pen laying beside it. Waiting.

The woman began to write. It occurred to Emica, as she read what was being written over the woman's shoulder that she had never stopped writing in journals to Emica. The more she read the more she understood the situation.

    "Dearest Emica...

The craziest thing just happened to me when I came home! One of our old journals was lying on the floor, without seeing it, I don't think I would've remembered to write to you tonight. While I know, you may never receive this, because I no longer know where you live, or have any sort of contact with you anymore, I feel as if, it's my duty to keep writing to you... It's like... a commitment I have to make in memory of you. . . Oh Emica... I don't know where you are, or if you're alive, but I hope my words find you some how...

tab tab tab tab tab -- Your friend, Shelby..."

Emica felt sad now, her friend had been writing to her even after they lost contact and she forgot all about her! "The first thing I'll do when I wake up is write back to her!" Emica resolved, as she looked around the apartment room for an address she could remember.

Rosco barked. Emica looked at him and knew he was trying to say that it was time to go... The two were met by another apparition. This time, it was the shorter girl with fiery red hair. The girl grinned and the three ghosts marched along. Into another scenario. Another forgotten memory. . .
