• They kept on running,Jessie turned to glance behind her but before she could look properly Something very solid hit her in the face. Jessie flew backwards and landed awkwardly. The thing that had stopped her turned out to be Jack's arm. He had thrown it out and stopped Jessie from running off the cliff. Jessie stood up and walked over to the edge. She closed her eyes and stepped back. It made her feel sick. She looked sideways at Jack.
“No way!” she said shaking her head and taking several more steps back “That water could be freezing!” she exclaimed.
Jack looked at her and she rolled her eyes.
“Don't look at me like that” Jessie said turning away.
“It's the only way, she's right behind us”
Jessie looked back down the cliff to the black swirl of water, crashing against the strong rock face. Jack was right,it was the only way. They could both swim well couldn't they?
“Fine. Lets get it over with”
They took a few steps back and out of the corner of her eye Jessie saw the women running out of the forest. With no time to loose they both ran and leapt off the cliff.

The air rushed by and Jessie's hair flew up. She snapped her arms and legs together, knowing that if she was a little wonky her bones would be like matchsticks to the sea. Jessie was falling at such a speed she could see the water rising higher and higher. Her heart was in her throat. With a ground shaking smash Jessie hit the ice cold water. The force of it knocked the breath out of her lungs as she plunged down into the depths of the sea. She saw Jack several feet below her struggling for breath, maybe this time they had bitten more than they could chew. Jessie began to swim up with all her might but just before she got to the surface a wave arrived from her left and swirled her round then down. As she was buffeted from side to side in all directions her arm hit something hard. She screamed in pain, bubbles erupting from her mouth. She swallowed salty water and started to choke. She sunk lower and lower her final hopes failing she shut her eyes wanting it all to stop. She wanted to die, here and now. Suddenly she felt a different current pulling her forward. She opened her eyes, the salt stinging them. She saw with blurry vision a round port hole opening in front of her. Jessie flung her arms out searching for Jack,to pull him to safety too but she could not see him. The next moment she was getting dragged through the porthole. She tried to fight it but it was no use she fell through leaving Jack behind choking in the darkness.
