• Prologue

The first Stars that where ever created thought that they were to drift in space forever without a purpose. They drifted in small goops called clans for thousands of years. They lost all hope of ever being happy. The stars whish had burned brightly in the sky were going out.
All but one, there was a star that still had its glow. He never faded and never gave into that darkness of space. His name was Xavier. Then one day I star name Garth asked him why he was so happy. “There is nothing in this dark forsaken space that could ever make someone happy. What is your secret?” Xavier leaned close to Garth and whispered softly into his ear what his secret was.
When he was done Garth’s glow was back and he passed on the secret to the other stars. Then slowly one by one they all regained their glow and once again the night was filled with bright shining stars.

    Chapter one… Masked Man

Kelly woke up to the screeching of her alarm clock. She laid there for several seconds letting the alarm wake her up. When she looked back at the clock it said it was 6:32. Kelly got up and started getting ready for school. Once he backpack was ready she carried it down and placed it by the front door. Then she went off to the kitchen to make herself and her mom breakfast.
Her mom wouldn’t be home for about half an hour. Kelly lived with her mom cense her dad died almost three years ago. Kelly’s mom worked nights at the hospital and she took the subway there and back every day. Things weren’t easy for a long time after her dad died. Her mom wasn’t working back then and they almost lost their house several times.
Her mom would always have a smile on though. When her mom was offered the job at the hospital things looked up. They could pay the pills and there was always food on the table. Kelly even got a part time job to help out as much as she could. She worked at the Family Dollar four blocks away from their house.
Poking her head into the refrigerator to see what there was to make. She pulled out the eggs and bacon. As she was pulling down the frying pain she say there was a massage on the phone. When she pressed play she heard her mom say “Kelly honey I’m sorry but I won’t be home for breakfast there’s a lady that came in and she’s ripped to pieces I’ll be home as soon as I can. Buy honey I love you.”
With a sigh Kelly put back two of the four eggs and two of the slices of bacon she pulled out and started cooking. When it was done cooking Kelly sat down at the dinner table. When she was done eating Kelly cleaned her plate and once again looked at her watch. 7:00. I should get going she thought to herself.
She walked to the front door and grabbed her shoes and jacket. Once they were on she put on her backpack and headed out the door. After she made sure the door was locked she was on her way to school. Living in New York was something she had grown to love. The tall buildings, the noise, and this time of year there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Walking through the back allies was the fastest was to her school but Kelly never took those ways. Too many people were killed a year in there.
The walk to school was the same every day. However, when she got to school today she knew that it wasn’t going to be such a good day. There was a girl named Grace Marsh who liked picking on people smaller then her, and Kelly fit that. Kelly was no bigger than five foot five and weigh one hundred and twenty-five pounds.
Walking quickly Kelly hoped she could sneak past Grace. That didn’t go so well. “You didn’t think you were going to get away that easily did you Kelly?” Grace said as she jacked Kelly back by her backpack. “Let me go Grace I didn’t do anything to you. Can’t you just leave me alone?” Kelly shouted.
She wiggled away from Grace, and took a few steps away and turned to face her. “Your nothing but a bully and you know what I feel sorry for you but I didn’t do anything to you so can you leave me alone please?” “Well Kelly let me think about that for a minute. No!” she pulled her hand to hit Kelly and when she was about to swing Kelly closed her eyes. Then there was a smack.
The sound was definitely her fist hitting something but it wasn’t her. Kelly slowly opened her eyes. When she did there was a man in front of her. He was about six foot tall with brad shoulders and night black heir. He was wearing a silver vest, white under shirt and black pants. One of his arms was raised and Kelly know what had just happened. He blocked Graces punch.
