High Tide, Late Noon:
The Ark passed the Northland Port just yesterday. I was lucky they didn't stop in for supplies, otherwise Grim would've found out about some of the... nasty... business I did there once. I think the locals still haven't forgiven me or forgotten my face.
But my worries are over now that we passed it, sailing on to stranger waters. Grim says we're heading to a place called "The Shoreman's Cove", whatever that is. He won't let me off anywhere either, which is unusual for him. He's been tense these past few days and it worries me. Grim is the fearless "Greyman Of The Sea." Anything he is afraid of must truly be terrifying.
With nothing to do and nowhere to go, my days at sea have been relatively boring. I'm used to exciting and dangerous adventure, not eerie boat rides into the unknown. I believe in striding into the unknown with confidence and guns flaring, not cautious with everyone silent like the dead. Even Heart has been quiet the whole time. Instead of her usual harsh words and beatings, she just gives me the beatings without explanation. I have to stay alert whenever I walk on deck now. I never know when one of her boots is going to land on my head out of the mist. I've suffered six head injuries this week alone.
I hope we get where we're going soon and I hope it's not as deadly there as everyone makes it out to be. I don't want my life of pirate adventure to end abruptly on some creepy, hidden cove in the middle of nowhere. I'm not infamous enough yet for people to notice I died and to start writing epic legends about me. That would put a real damper on my career.
I also hope the Ark would stop smelling like rotten eggs in the morning, but I guess that's impossible.
