•        I wake up to my father jumping around my room, singing for me to wake up. I groan grumpily and sit up, giving him a deathly look. "Oh Isadora!! It's your first day of school, get up get up!" He sings in the most irritating voice I've ever heard. I roll out of bed and glare at him. "Look at my little girl! Sixteen going on sixty!!! So grown up!" He says as he stops right in front of me. Wizards can live to be around three hundred years old, so we don't get wrinkles until we are at least one two hundred twenty five. "Dad... Get out so I can dress." I mutter and rub my eyes tiredly. "Fine fine!! Are you wearing what I picked out to go with your uniform?" He sings and jestures to a pink hair bow and sparkly jewelry. "No." I say with a sigh. "But it would make you look Isa-DORABLE!" He says, his eyes sparkling.
I kick him in the stomach and he doubles over. "I TOLD YOU NEVER TO CALL ME THAT!" I yell and he whines and apologizes. My mother walks in giving me a look. "Sorry." I grumble and grab my uniform and stomp to the bathroom. I dress quickly and pull my hair back into a tight ponytail. My mother steps in quietly, holding a black and purple ribbon in her hands. "He means well." She says as she undoes my ponytail and ties it back up with both ribbons. "I know, but he just gets too excited." I say. "I know dear, but this is a big day for both of you, so please be nice." She says and smiles at my defeated expression in the mirror. "Fine." I mutter and she leaves with a victory smile. My father may be a war God, but he is also the girliest father in the world.
I leave the bathroom and walk into my kitchen. My father is at the stove frying up some bacon, my favorite food. I sit down and begin to feel kind of bad about kicking him. He really does do anything and everything for me.. My father appears behind me and sets my bacon down in front of me. "Don't look so down, Is. I've taken arrow to the knee and swords in the arm, that kick was nothing." He says and smiles at me. I giggle at his reference to Skyrim. He pays my head and moved his attention to his breakfast. I also begin to eat my breakfast, bacon and eggs.
When I finish eating I stand up and brush off my plaid skirt. "See you at school." I tell my father as I grab my bag and leave. The first day of school there is always a new student introduction ceremony. I know my father is going to make a big deal out of me being there, and I'm not happy about it. I walk to school, it was a few blocks away so it wasn't a long walk.
I walk through the large iron gates nervously, tugging on my skirt. There are students walking around the courtyard, it is easy to tell who is a first year and who is not. I see most people in groups near trees, benches, and picnic tables. I spot a bench with a girl and a boy that look almost exactly alike. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. I decide that it would be okay to go sit on the edge of their bench so I don't disturb them.
I walk over with my eyes on the ground and sit on the edge of the bench. The two sit close together, whispering indistinctivly. I look around, hoping to see someone from the public school I went to up until now. Yeah I said it. Public. School. My father may be the founder, but I still have to follow the age requirements. 'Am I really the only person from that wretched school who passed the entrance exams?' I sigh internally and take my messenger bag off. I look up again and that's when I see them. The three cutest boys I've ever seen. Then, I realize who they are...
Jacob, Jace, and Mason Willow. The Willow family is the most prestigious family in town... Well.. After my family, that is, but their sons are famous around town. All handsome, smart, and powerful. Jacob and Jace are the twins, brown hair and brown eyes to match. Tall and muscular, yet so lean. Then there is their younger brother, Mason. Brown hair and blue eyes, but he's tall and lean. His muscles don't show much, but trust me they are there. What can I say? Summer vacation on the beach and both of our families are there. Can you blame me for looking?
As my daydreaming of their shirtless bodies begins to happen, Mason meets my gaze. My cheeks turn bright pink and I quickly look away, down at my messenger bag that rests on my lap. "He's staring at you." A voice next to me says, making me jump. I turn my head and see the girl who is sitting next to the boy who looks almost exactly like her. "Who?" I ask quietly, hoping it isn't Mason. I mean, we have talked to each other and we have eaten dinner together, but only because our dads are friends. It's not like we are friends... Are we?
"Mason, duh." The girl says and sighs. "So, you guys know each other?" The girl asks me. "Our dads are friends so I see him every once in a while." I reply with a shrug. "Hmmm." The girl says with pursed lips. "I'm Nissa by the way, this is my brother Garret." She says, as if remembering her manners. I look at her brother and smile at him politely before looking back at her. "I'm Isadora." I say, not telling them my last name. People always try to be my friend when they know my last name. They think it'll get them in the good with my father... "Isadora? That's an exotic name.." Garret says, speaking up. "My parents like odd names." I say with a small shrug.
"Hmmm... The name sounds familiar.." Garret says to no one in particular. "Now that you mention it, her name does sound familiar.." Nissa says and thinks for a moment. "I got it.." She says and snaps her fingers. "You're the headmasters daughter. I thought you'd at least be as pretty as he is handsome." She says, "I'm actually disappointed. You seem like a total geek."
My cheeks flame pink. 'So now I'm geeky and not pretty..' I think bitterly and look down at my lap. "Sorry to disappoint you." I mutter. "Nissa I don't see why you have to be so mean." Garret says, "Isadora is quite cute and her awkwardness towards strangers is even cuter. You're just jealous that you can't pull it off." He smiles at his sister a bit mischievously. My mouth falls open and Nissa looks peeved. "How dare you!" After her first sentence I stand up and blush even more.  "I'm just gonna go.." I say as the two engage in an argument. I quickly turn to walk away and as soon as I take the first step I bump into a sturdy figure and stumble back. They catch my arm and I look up at them. It's a smiling Mason... I stand up straight, speechless for a moment. "Uhh.." I manage to get out. "Hello, Isadora. Are you okay?" He asks me in that sweet, sweet voice. "Err.. Y-yeah." I stammer and brush a loose strand of hair out of my face. "You sure? You're blushing an awful lot." He says with a smile. "I uh... Yeah." I mumble and look down. He puts two fingers under my chin and tilts my head up so that I am looking up into his beautiful blue eyes. I know my eyes are wide and expose every single feeling I have. "You don't need to be shy around me, Isa." He whispers. 'Isa... That nickname.. I've hear him all me that before, but when? We never speak unless it's small talk.'
I close my eyes and sigh, trying to remember. Images of two beautiful children flashes into my mind. "Come on Isa!" The little boy says and waves a stick like a magic wand. The little girl runs over and trips, falling against the little boy. "I-I'm sorry Mason!" She says hastily, her pale cheeks heating up. "It's okay Isa, you don't need to be shy around me." The boy says and hugs the little girl.
My eyes fly open as I look at Mason, my heart pounding. His gaze shows that he knows what I just saw. "I-I need to g-go see my father..." I mutter and pull away quickly. I turn away and as I take off running I feel my ribbon float out of my dark hair. "What the hell just happened?" I ask myself as I run to the Headmaster's Office.
