• After the last Maldvien attack, the cities are still recovering and getting ready for the next. Each morning, all you see are medium-sized skyscrapers in the shadows of a huge wall in the shape of a ring. This wall, made of metal and stone isn’t even complete yet. The council-members of the cities hope they will finish on time. Or at least load the defenses to prepare for battle.
As they carry large pieces of machinery up the tall structure down below in the dirty streets are people dying due to the lack of food and medication. The children are the sickest. Pale skin and limbs so frail a slight tug of the joints would pop them off. Citizens all wear torn clothes, the last city destroyed was the main source of clothing while the others provided livestock and medicine. Now that only three of the cities remain everyone doubts that they’ll be able to hold back the Maldviens ten minutes.
Even if we are prepared for battle we’ll all die before it even begins. But people talk of a secret that the council is keeping from them. Many guess a super machine thousands of feet tall that would destroy the Maldvien ships before they can even touch ground. Others argue that they’re keeping food away from them so the council can get full and plump while they all starve to death. The most interesting guess was from a group of young teenagers. Hard to believe the leaders of tomorrow are those starving to death today. The teens, at least the youngest of the group says that there is no secret.

” It’s not a secret if we already know how it looks like. It’s us, the citizens of Erschia. We don’t need machines fighting for us. What we need is us trying to keep it together and make it through the fight.”
”You know she’s right,” says the oldest of the group,”We need to keep this city from falling apart. Especially before the invasion. But we need to contact the other cities.”
“Agreed.” says a figure of a man walking towards them.

It’s councilman Tibron. A dark man with a stocky build and a deep friendly voice that can win anyone’s trust. He’s wearing one his fancy suits with a tie. Something that none of the citizens could get on the wages they get. The people working on the wall couldn’t even get an ounce of seeds.
Tibron goes through in between the group and stands at the middle of them.
“You are correct. The only way we do stand a chance against the Maldviens is if we can rebuild not only this wall, but the pride in the city. I will tell the council of your proposal and hopefully it works out well. We can’t keep isolating ourselves and ignore the lives of the other innocent survivors beyond this point.” He points towards the wall as the first piece of weaponry is attached on the edge.
