• Prologue

Running without stopping, Ria was badly beat up as she ran through the woods, trees and all sorts of bugs had her clothing messy and even bloody from all the scratches. She had been running so long she couldnt breath, but she knew she couldnt stop. until finally, she fell down a hill, where boulders and trees made it a maze to swirl around to avoid getting hurt, until she managed to grab hold of a boulder. she hear people talk atop the hill.
“... Don't stop,” Said a scruffy male voice. “She is still nearby, I can smell her.”
“Of course she is, idiot” Said another male voice, this time he sounded brutish and strong. “She fell down the hill, probs’ got her head smashed into a rock.”
“I guess” Muffled the scruffy voice.
“Well I know!” Laughed the brute in an arrogant tone, their footsteps disturbed the fallen leaves and grass as they walked away.
Ria was safe, thank the gods.
She looked ahead and saw a clearing, should she run, her capture would be imminent. However, farther up ahead was a large, urban city, if she could get there there she would likely be a way to escape her pursuers in all the noise and people. All she had to do was run there without being captured.
She realized that she had no choice, they thought she was dead, which meant that they would eventually return for the body, likely to bury it… She giggled quietly. She knew they would just eat her corpse.
That is, if she were dead: however she is very much alive, and she intened on keeping it that way. Thus, after thinking of it carefully, she jumped out of the spot she was comfily nuzzled in, and ran as fast as she could.
“HEY!! ITS HER!!” screamed a feminine voice.
“I told you!” Shouted the scruffy boy. The brute grew angry and there was a sound of a thud, likely the poor boy was slammed into a boulder or tree by the oxen-like man.
“DAMMIT!” He bellowed as he began to slide down the hill. But Ria was too fast, she was already near the outskirts of the bustling city. Then he did something unexpected, he leaped up into the air, and as he landed, the earth trembled so violently that Ria lost her footing and fell forward. She yelped in pain as her foot was injured in the fall.
“You DARE make a mockery of ME??” Shouted the brute, he was pale, with crimson eyes and two ferocious fangs, his black hair was pointed all around, a vampire. He was strong, however, he seemed completely ridiculous wearing a brown tank top and short shorts, his muscles were so large that his veins veins popped out from them, making him look like at any movement he would explode. But the disaster did not strike Ria as an important thing to note at that moment.
He began to charge at her, she panicked and rehearsed the quickest spell she knew, a weak electricity spell. She sent the small bolt at him, sadly, he deflected it by smacking it aside. She kept trying.
“O-omni maximus, voidus thundara luminoct!!” She repeate dpoorly in shrieks. Finally he caught up to her, grabbed her injured leg, and pulled her up high and upside down, she screamed in pain and fear.
“Now you see what happens to those who force me to play the fool!!” He growled, a horrifying grin widened on his face as he prepared his fist to strike.. Ria closed her eyes and braced herself for the impact.
    “Omni maximus, Voidus Thundara luminoct.”
A quiet and calm voice was heard, as a powerful blast of lightning hit the man in the side, sending him flying, and sporting a brand new addition to his hideous appearance.
A woman approached, Ria stared as she examined her features. Her hair was clean and a beautiful deep violet shade, and her eyes were an analytical, cold silver, with a pair of silver lined glasses rested above her nose. She had fair skin and very young looking complexion, she was beautiful. She dawned a deep blue overcoat with a black dress under, and black leather boots. Her hand was raised, indicating she had just aimed a spell. The other hand held a book.
Is is a book of spells? Thought Ria, it was a simple history book upon closer examination.
“I would appreciate silence when I am reading.” She spoke calmly. “However, it seems I will need to exterminate some… pests, first.”
She looked at the brute, whom was quite visibly dead. Then looked back at the forest.
“About.. Six more, yes?” She did not even turn to look, but Ria knew she was being addressed. Ria nodded politely. “Y-yes..”
“Very well.” The woman uttered as she moved her hand in a circular motion, a very detailed and intricate magic circle formed in the air before her.
“Omni maximus, Voidus animus luminoct” She chanted, not missing a single pronunciation. Suddenly, several little orbs appeared in front of the circle, about six, and they flew into the forest. Several dying shouts followed, then silence, the circle faded and her hand lowered. Ria knew that performing spells that powerful took a lot of energy, yet the woman did not so much as sigh.
    she is powerful...
Finally, the woman looked at Ria, her silver analytical gaze startled Ria, she tried getting up. She nearly instantly winced and fell.
“... What happened?” Asked the woman.
    “My foot… I think it’s injured…”
She looked at Ria’s foot, then nodded.
    “I am Ame Dovee.”
    Ria nodded remembering it.
    “I am… Ria,” She uttered. “... Just… Ria…”
    Ame studied her, then nodded.
“Very well, Ria. Come, we will go to my home and get you healed.”
    Ria nodded silently and obediently.

    ***
Moments later, with the aid of Ame’s magic, they made it into her small abode. It seemed very simple, bookcases lined with hundreds of books. Ranging from Magic, to History, to simple nonfiction novels. Her desk seemed to contain many magic grimoires, likely the ones she finds most important or valuable. She had two sofas, both seemed comfy and inviting. As well as two rooms. She entered one, it was likely hers. The other however, was empty. It seemed to be unused for years, but it seemed to be the guest room.
she must’ve been alone here for a long time...
Finally Ame emerged, she had a first aid kit in hand and looked at Ria.
“Sit, the more you stand on it the worse it will get.”
Ria nodded and sat doing as she was told as Ame quietly began to bandage and use magic to speed up the healing process.
Ria’s eyes began to wander, examining every inch of this womans home. Exploring every nook and cranny, every tiny decoration and book title. When one book in particular caught her eye.
“... The Grimoires of the Ameie?” she quietly whispered as Ame finished.
“Yes,” She said quietly as she adjusted her glasses. She stood and took the book. “Ameie is what people now believe is the plural for ‘Ameino’, however it is wrong, it is merely ‘Ameino’, nothing more.”
“Who are they?” asked Ria. Ame sat down on her desk chair.
“‘Ameino’ are merely descendants of the same woman: Ameino. A powerful being. She was sort of god and had many of the powers every known god had. No one knows if she was a god herself or a human. She always seeked to form a harmless friendship with the gods. She was however, locked away. Many gods feared her, her power, how powerful any offspring would become. knowing they could never kill her, and despite protests of the gods that she had befriended, they sealed her into the deepest pits of the earth. But not for torture as some people believe, she sleeps. She provides the barrier preventing other dark beings from escaping their eternal punishment.”
Ria nodded soaking it all in.
“But.. You said ‘descendants’, and that she was locked away to PREVENT offsprings?”
Ame nodded, satisfied at the response.
“Yes, Ameino anticipated the betrayal of her godly companions. She had a child already, and kept them a secret from the gods. Thus the child grew up and had children themselves. And as time went on, the Ameino blood had more children and more of legacy. However, there still are not many descendants left, very few due too… certain circumstances.” She paused, and picked the old, leathered grimoir up for emphasis. “This book contains spells and journals of some offspring, and of Ameino herself. It is my most valuable artifact.”
    Ria nodded slowly.
    “... Are you one?”
Ame nodded, Ria went still for a moment.
    “... That’s so cool!!!”
Ria began raving about how exciting and fairytale like the entire story was, Ame silently and patiently listened, then realized a question she should have asked sooner.
“Do you not have family to return to?”
This made Ria pause, she quietly looked down.
“... No… Not really… In fact, those people were sort of the... Unwelcome committee… I was kicked out of my ‘home’…”
Ame nodded, and after a moment stood up.
“I rarely have guests.” she said. “I hope you do not put the room to waste.”
    Ria watched quietly.
    “... You’re letting me stay?”
Ame turned and nodded, her expression was emotionless. “It would be a shame to let a room and a mind go to waste.” She said as she turned and entered her room. Ria stared and smiled, looking around her new home.
“... I am home…” She quietly said as a smile formed on her lips. she got up and entered her room, then quickly laid herself comfortably on her new bed. The moment her eyes closed, she drifted off into a blissful slumber.
