Lover's Bane

• Description: It's just another poem I came up with on a whim. I was going for a bit of a darker poem, but even though it's somewhat sad, it's not that dark. *shrugs*

Alone I stand upon the ledge
Rain soaked body looking down
Waiting for my lover's pledge
Billowing wind kissing my gown

Here I long for the sweet, sweet thing
The cold embrace of insanity
It's here that I most feel the sting
Of your betrayal, your inhumanity

One last glance up, towards the sky
Finally, here comes the sun
Ashes quickly flying by
Over as quickly as it begun

Watching as this all takes place
You never wanted me in pain
Tears slowly running down your face
My existence was your only bane

Walking alone, it's too much to bare
Out of the shade, into the sun's glare
Never the same life could we share
But in death, I will see you there
